Homosexual mob attacks Christian prayer group

This is amazing (but not surprising). A full on attack on a group of Christians in a gay-zone, where the Christians were doing nothing more offensive than singing songs. Looks like the gloves are coming off in America. No more pretending to be normal.
The Christians, a group of Evangelical Protestants who regularly go to the predominantly homosexual Castro District to sing songs and pray with passers-by, say they were holding hands and singing "Amazing Grace" when an angry mob began to shove and kick them, steal their belongings, pour hot coffee on their faces, and sexually assault them.

"A few men came and they brought a large piece of cloth and covered us with cloth and cornered us into a corner, and they started swearing at us and yelling at us and just filled with hatred, and the crowd grew larger and larger and larger until it ended up being a few hundred people and the bars had emptied out, and we're completely surrounded by people yelling at us," the participant recounted.

"And all of a sudden, me and another friend had hot coffee poured on our faces, and I thought they were pouring boiling water on us until I could smell the coffee, and the girl next to me, someone reached in and took her Bible and she went and said 'I'm sorry that's mine, can I have it back please?' and he hit on her head with the Bible, pushed her onto the ground and began kicking her."

According to the account, members of the crowd began to shove the group and blow whistles in their ears. They took photographs and said "we know who you are, we're going to kill you". The group made a circle with the women protected inside. That was when "it got bad, it got perverse," the participant said.

Although the videotaped participant did not elaborate, a YouTube member who posted a video of the violence included anonymous testimony from a participant claiming that "they were touching and grabbing me, and trying to shove things in my butt, and even trying to take off my pants - basically trying to molest me. I used one hand to hold my pants up, while I used the other arm to hold one of the girls. The guys huddled around all the girls, and protected them."

After police arrived in riot gear, the mob reportedly became even more agitated, and began to violently lunge at the prayer group, seeking to go between the officers, who had formed a protective line. That was when the videotaped participant said she thought she was going to die.

I say it's not surprising because I have noticed the hatred of Christians the strongest among those who have the most degenerate sexual appetites. It's not often unmasked in this way, however.

Why do you keep calling homosexuals "poofs"? Don't you like them?

And you have missed the point of Lucyna's post. If homosexuals decry violence, why do they then do it? Two wrongs do not make a right.

Any ANYONE has the right to engage in peaceful conduct without being attacked, even Christians:-)

  4. Paul, ah yes, homosexuals are always victims. However, historically this sort of thing is not new. Go back to another time and place to Germany, and similar things were occurring.

  6. Actually, come to think of it, it's worse. These people were attacked because of the outcome of a democratic vote.

Christian bashing as a term may not enter the popular vernacular, but it's always been a popular past time.

Usually it's just intolerant comments, sarcasm and disrespectful behaviour. I think we will see much worse in times ahead.

It is not right when some-one is attacked merely for being gay, and it's still not right when they are Christian.

  7. Ohhh that hurt, I’ve been accused of being a closet-gay and then in the next breath being a follower of Ayn Rand - reminds me to read one of her books one day, her name always keeps coming-up in dispatches(gets himself off the floor, dusts himself off like a scene from Fight Club)

I can’t honestly believe you guys are defending Christianities historic role in demonising homosexuality?

For example, Churches in New Zealand had a major role in attempting to stop The Homosexual Law Reform of 1986, which I covered in depth in my recent blog:

    http://canterburyatheists.blogspot.com/2008/11/homosexual-law-reform-beginning-of-end.html

No I’m not trying the drum-up numbers - it’s too long to re-publish here, besides being not ‘the done thing’.

You also seem to believe religion (your choice from the vast array, being Christianity of the Catholic variety) is exempt criticism & anyone who has an opinion that, differs from yours is ‘attacking’ you.

Tolerance is a two way street, not a highway that leads to Rome.

    Turning quick and running.

    Paul.

PS: I’ve come to the notice lately the high number of times Nazi Germany springs-up all over the internet on blogging sites. You state something and next thing someone will either say “the Nazis did that” or “the Nazis were against that?”. Why is it every-time you mention a subject ‘someone’ points to Nazi Germany to defend/justify their position? Beats me?

It's not always all about you Paul. I missed the bit where you are being accused of being a closet gay. And as far as I can tell, Ruth was not accusing you of being a follower of Ayn Rand, Ruth was just pointing out an "interesting fact" about Ayn Rand.

Good. I don't think anyone is. The post was about a group of people becoming violent against Christians.

Tolerance and diversity has been the key mantra of the gay activist, and we are seeing disturbing signs that tolerance may be a one-way street.

You also seem to believe religion (your choice from the vast array, being Christianity of the Catholic variety) is exempt criticism & anyone who has an opinion that, differs from yours is ‘attacking’ you.

Incorrect. I believe everything is open to genuine criticism. However, there is respectful criticism and there is "attacking". Attacking is like kicking people who are behaving peacefully.

Attacking is coming in with outrageous and inflamatory assertions, as some trolls here are wont to do.

Tolerance is a two way street, not a highway that leads to Rome.

Very cute. One, it is a matter of perspective. here are always things we could find that we would not tolerate. Should we tolerate anything? Secondly, for many this is not an issue of toleration. You might want to make it about tolerance because that suits the argument you wish to make. However, for many, like myself, I'm quite comfortable tolerating homosexuality. I don't have a problem with living along side homosexuals. The marriage issue means different things to different people, and tolerance is only a small part of it.
