Most web pages you load now (ie NZ Herald etc) will have the type that make up stories and headings chosen from a very slim pool - eg, Arial, Verdana, Times New Roman, but now they'll be able to use practically any font they like.

Of course, Flash sites have been imbedding fonts for years.I.M Fletcherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02221772173209860714noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38893560.post-53323503285764289452010-05-07T17:24:57.460+12:002010-05-07T17:24:57.460+12:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38893560.post-74386225907675499762010-05-07T16:51:20.815+12:002010-05-07T16:51:20.815+12:00Oh, and the implications are a lot of very ugly we...Oh, and the implications are a lot of very ugly websites with weird arse fonts LOL.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38893560.post-79194528077995347672010-05-07T16:50:42.010+12:002010-05-07T16:50:42.010+12:00Well, I will, if you don't mind me butting in....Well, I will, if you don't mind me butting in.

Web designers are limited to a small range of fonts because the font is not embedded in the web site, it is loaded from the viewer's computer. So, if I use superdupercolourbigboldfont the only people who can see it are those who already have it on their pc. The only alternative until now has been to conver the font to a graphic.

With this system the range of fonts is vastly increased as the fonts will be served from other web servers.

There is a better service than webkit that I am currently playing with.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38893560.post-92086815601005580432010-05-07T16:31:29.048+12:002010-05-07T16:31:29.048+12:00Could you explain to some to us less techy people ...Could you explain to some to us less techy people what the implications are Fletch?KGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01940428991630766942noreply@blogger.com
