Spiked Author: Yes Abortion Kills A Baby But Is Trumped By A Woman's Choice

I am more-often-than-not in agreement with what SP!KED author Brendan O'Neill writes, especially in regard to free speech and gay marriage. I am afraid I have to disagree with his column this week (based on a debate that eventually never happened), in which he says he agrees with the fact that abortion destroys an unborn life, or potential life, but that a woman's freedom of choice trumps that. He writes - Some pro-life campaigners say, `Ah, but this "act of autonomy" is different to all others because it harms and ultimately destroys another human life - that of the fetus'. I don't deny this. I do think there are massive questions to be asked regarding when a fetus becomes fully human, but I don't deny that a fetus is at least a potential human life and that abortion ends that potential human life. But I have made a moral judgement, and I've decided that it is worse - infinitely worse - to force a living, breathing, autonomous individual to do so...

Single Issue Voting - The Abortion Issue

Right Reason has highly amusing post about single issue voting in NZ: Single Issue Voting and Killing Poor Coloured People . Though, "poor coloured people" is not a normal phrase commonly used in NZ, but then maybe that was the point. A highlight: As we travel further towards the right, we reach the heavily populated centre zone. Before reaching the middle, we encounter the Naybour Party, arrayed in red. The Naybours’ focus on good old-fashioned social democratic values: Good social services and strong welfare, giving everybody a fair go no matter where you come from. Social engineering (i.e. progress) towards the Naybours’ vision of utopia is what this party is about. I think Glenn is missing his calling as a satirist. He really ought to do more of this stuff and give The Civilian a serious run for his money. In all seriousness, though, Glenn's post is about the validity of single issue voting, whereby "poor coloured people" are presumably substituted...

Supermodel Kathy Ireland On Abortion

Supermodel Kathy Ireland appeared on the Mike Huckabee show and talked about becoming a Christian and on how her stance changed from Pro-Choice to Pro-Life. Her defence of unborn life is very cogent and easy to understand. I dove into the medical books [...] What I learned is, at the moment of conception, a new life comes into being. The DNA - the genetic blueprint - is there, the sex is determined, the blood type is determined, the unique set of fingerprints is there. And, I picked up the phone, called Planned Parenthood, 'help me out here, give me your best argument!' And, the best arguments, 'well, it's just a clump of cells if you get it early enough. It doesn't even look like a baby.'  We're "clumps of cells" and that unborn human being does not look like a baby, the same way a baby does not look like a teenager; a teenager does not look like a senior, but that unborn human being looks EXACTLY the way unborn human beings are supposed...

Donate To Help Kill Children and Receive FREE Gift

A U.S website for the DC Abortion Fund  (an organisation that gives grants to women who cannot afford abortion) has a page where you can donate $10 a month to (as they put it), "make abortion access a reality for women in our community!" . Just for donating, they'll send you a nice necklace with a coathanger hanging off of it. Yes, you read that right - a coathanger! (see the image). It looks like they're not trying to disguise it anymore, or sugarcoat what it is they're doing; it's brutally honest and out in the open. It's the killing of unborn children. Disturbing. h/t National Review Online

Brain washed Chinese condemn man for having children

"Even as China is softening its one-child policy, one if its most renowned film directors is finding himself in trouble for violating the nation's infamous family planning law." Yes indeed. He fathered three children . This has caused outrage amongst the brainwashed population: "Zhang's breach of the policy has set off a firestorm, especially among netizens who resent how the rich and famous in China flout rules and policies. JinqiuT wrote on Sina Weibo, China's Twitter-like microblogging service: Celebrities should abide laws and rules as common people." When the government subjects its citizens to a constant diet of its own propaganda, the population eventually come to believe that justice is reached by obeying the law, not flouting it. This is why their society accepts millions of forced abortions every year. Or maybe they are not all forced. Maybe there are huge queues of women asking for their babies to be terminated? Certainly, in Ind...

Half naked women try to attack Cathedral in Argentina, held back by Rosary praying men

Abortion inspires Diabolical behaviour: Buenos Aires, December 2nd, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Extremely disturbing video footage from Argentina shows a mob of feminists at a recent protest attacking and sexually molesting a group of Rosary-praying Catholic men who were peacefully protecting the cathedral in the city of San Juan from threats of vandalism. The women, many of them topless, spray-painted the men’s crotches and faces and swastikas on their chests and foreheads, using markers to paint their faces with Hitler-like moustaches. They also performed obscene sexual acts in front of them and pushed their breasts onto their faces, all the while shouting “get your rosaries out of our ovaries.” (Note: Some of the most graphic content has been removed from the video. Uncensored footage is available here. Viewer discretion strongly advised.) According to InfoCatolica, some of the women chanted a song, with the lyrics: “To the Roman Catholic Apostolic Church, who wants to get bet...

Small plastic babies are offensive and disturbing

I'm just listening to the radio where Tim Fookes compares giving plastic baby toys to children with watching a man getting run over on TV . When did unborn human babies become offensive? In the NZ Herald, the current controversy is explained: Parents are outraged after an anti-abortion stall gave their children plastic foetuses at an A and P show. On Thursday, anti-abortion groups teamed up to exhibit at the the Canterbury A and P Show on a Voice for Life and ProLife stall. Amber Murdoch said her son, 11, arrived home on Thursday with a model foetus after a school outing. "I was shown it at 6 o'clock at night when I got home from work," Murdoch said. "It led to me having a really uncomfortable conversation when I had to explain to him he wasn't actually going to be allowed to play with this thing, and having to explain what abortion was all about." Murdoch said her son also received a leaflet written for women who were pregnant. Murdoc...

Pope Francis condemns abortion day after controversial interview

Will the mainstream media give Pope Francis the same sort of coverage that they did to his interview? Somehow I doubt it, but I hope I'm wrong. ROME, September 20, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In a meeting with Catholic gynaecologists this morning Pope Francis strongly condemned abortion as a manifestation of a “throwaway culture.” " Every unborn child, though unjustly condemned to be aborted, has the face of the Lord, who even before his birth, and then as soon as he was born, experienced the rejection of the world ," the pope said. The comments come one day after the release of an in-depth interview in which the Pope had explained that despite criticism he has avoided speaking about moral issues like abortion and gay “marriage” in his papacy, instead focusing on preaching about the love of Christ. Well, that might upset a few people who think that Francis was relaxing the rules. Speaking to the International Federation of Catholic Medical Associations, Pope Fran...

Socialists admit that their promotion of gay marriage and abortion is part of their strategy to replace global capitalism with Marxism

From LifeSiteNews, an article highlighting that promoting gay marriage and abortion is part of a socialist strategy to attack the family and thus replace global capitalism with Marxism. A publication of the international socialist movement has explicitly stated it is promoting abortion and gay “marriage” as part of a multi-pronged campaign to “replace global capitalism” with Marxism. The admission came on Monday in an article entitled "How Can We Change the World?" by Todd Chretien in the Socialist Worker, which is published by the International Socialist Organization. The ISO proudly “stands in the tradition of revolutionary socialists Karl Marx, V.I. Lenin, and Leon Trotsky.” ... Today's young people, Chretien hoped, would carry on a social revolution by waging war on the family. “When you break the statistics down by age, race and gender, you see what the powers that be are afraid of,” he wrote. “Some 68 percent of people between the ages of 18 and 34, 60 p...

Pope Answers Woman's Letter With Phone Call

A 35 year old woman wrote to Pope Francis because she got pregnant and the father told her he was married already and to go get an abortion. The Pope gave her a quick ring and told her not to let anyone “rob her of hope” and said that if she couldn’t find a priest to baptize the child, that he would come and do it himself.

The Dirty Unseen Side Of Abortion They Don't Want You To See

The video above is an interview with the mother of 18 year old Marla Cardamone who was killed while having an abortion ( WARNING: Contains Graphic Images ). She has given permission for pictures of her daughter and unborn granddaughter to be used in a campaign by pro-life group Life Dynamics. This is the first time images like this have been used and Marla's mother wants people to see what Planned Parenthood did to her daughter. A pro-life group has released the graphic images today of a woman who was killed in a botched legal abortion. The group says they are some of the first images ever seen publicly of a woman who was brutalized by an abortion that claimed her life. When 18-year-old Marla Cardamone was killed having an abortion at a Pennsylvania hospital, her mother, Deborah, vowed that she would never let her daughter be forgotten.  Then, late last year, she approached the pro-life group Life Dynamics and asked the group’s president Mark Crutcher to help her show the ...

What sets in the east and rises in the west

"A Chinese government think tank is urging the country's leaders to start phasing out its one-child policy immediately and allow two children for every family by 2015, a daring proposal to do away with the unpopular policy ." Looks like forced abortions may set in the east even as the abortion machine known as "Family Planning" rises in the west.

Will Obama go down for American embassy attack?

Wow. Now it seems the attack on the American Embassy in Libya was all because of arms smuggling that killed American ambassador, Chris Stevens, was directly involved in. Wow. No wonder all the media can do is try to shift the focus to a Republican's assertion that all human life, even life conceived in rape, is because God intended it . It's certainly all the NZ media has been reporting so far on the radio that I've heard. Court Agrees Greater Risk Of Suicide, Women Who Have Had Abortion.

Court in U.S rules that State of Dakota is allowed to say that women who have had abortions are at increased risk of suicide – and even planned Parenthoods expert concurred. A federal appeals court affirmed the last provision of a long-disputed informed consent law today, ruling that the state of South Dakota can require abortionists to inform women seeking to terminate the lives of their unborn baby that they face an increased risk of suicide. [...] “As a result of this case upholding all eight major provisions of South Dakota’s Abortion Informed Consent Statute, pregnant mothers will now be informed: 1) that ‘an abortion terminates the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being;’ 2) that the mother’s ‘relationship with that second human being enjoys protection under the Constitution of the United States and the laws of South Dakota;’ 3) ‘that relationship and all rights attached to it will be terminated;’ and 4) the abortion places the mother ‘at increased risk for...

International Criminal Court investigating NZ for eugenics

This might cause a bit of embarrassment over here. AUCKLAND, New Zealand, July 4, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Prosecutor at the International Criminal Court (ICC) has decided to launch an inquiry into a complaint against the New Zealand Government’s antenatal screening program for Down syndrome and other conditions. The complaint was filed with the ICC by SavingDowns, the Spina Bifida Association of New Zealand (SBNZ) and Right to Life New Zealand. SavingDowns is an organized group of parents with children with Down syndrome. The groups allege that the screening program, introduced nationally in February 2010 by the Ministry of Health, targets unborn children with Down syndrome and other conditions such as Spina Bifida for birth prevention. They also claim that such programs are eugenic, discriminatory and put parents under undue pressure to abort wanted babies. The irony being that abortion in NZ is only legal if it puts the mother's mental or physical health in danger. ...

Abortion - Like it's a good thing

The abortion statistics are out today , and the total number of abortions is down (Just dropping under 16,000). Other interesting statistics, like 38% of abortions are by women who have already had a previous abortion. The Hand Mirror are poised to discuss the latest Abortion stats, but warn commenters not to bring morality into the discussion. Thus Julie's comment below her post is printed here, and I invite readers to discuss the moral aspect should they be so inclined. To be honest when it comes to these stats I don't know if it would be good or bad for them to be going up or down, because we don't know WHY. I'm kinda inclined to say the figures going down are going to be a good thing, if only because so many human beings weren't terminated as compared to the last few years. The WHY is an important question, which could provide some interesting insight, but with the numbers down, I'll pop the champagne anyway.

Study Proves That Abortion Ban Does Not Lead To Back Alley Deaths

Chile is proving to be a good testing ground with regard to abortion laws. While other countries have embraced abortion - we have abortion-on-demand for all intents and purposes - Chile went the other way in 1989, banning all "therapeutic" abortions. A new study, headed by Dr. Elard Koch, an epidemiologist from the Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Chile, shows that - a) outlawing abortion is remarkably effective at reducing the number of abortions that take place in a country, including clandestine ones, and b) there is absolutely no link between making abortion illegal and an increase in the number of deaths from clandestine abortions. Fr Barron on the Hunger Games and Human Sacrifice

A new movie, called The Hunger Games has recently been released onto the big screens in New Zealand.  It's set in a future world where young people are selected from 12 rebellious districts as "tributes" to fight to the death on live television.  It's reminiscent of ancient times, when human sacrifice was not uncommon. Father Barron, in the video clip above, talks about why this story line is resonating with audiences today, and how Chrisitianity (when people are really living it) prevents human sacrifice from re-emerging in our cultures. Why is it, that this dynamic of human sacrifice is so prominent in our culture ... from ancient times to today ... Rene Girard uncovered this dynamic ... discovered what he called the scape-goating mechanism ... tensions arise within human communities ... how do we solve the problem ... by this mechanism we choose someone to blame, someone to isolate, someone to ostracise, at the limit, someone to kill. We discharge ...

Bleak Despair

Several people have sent me a link to this: The New Scar on My Soul . And I have felt sick on reading it. What have we come to? What are we doing? In the 1960s we opened a Pandora's box with the advent of "Reproductive Technologies" by controlling fertility and this is not a blessing it is a curse. I have never ever understood why, when people use science to engineer pest resistant onions which can help feed more people, there is a fuss about "Franken-foods" and yet tinker with the very essence of humanity and there is silence. I hate to be a Jeremiah but the outcome of all of this, is the end of our civilization at the very minimum and you can see why - the writing is on the wall.
