If we take away guns, do we also need to take away knives? I suspect then that such people will turn to using explosives, poisons and improvised weapons.
It's very disturbing in general that innocent children are being targeted. Perhaps that is the key question to answer, when we begin to search for answers. Although, I think the Boomtown Rats provided one possible answer to that riddle long ago:

What reason do you need to die, die?
This is exactly it.
ReplyDeleteWhile perhaps America is too loose with its gun laws in some states it does not lie as the cause for these tragic, merciless killings.
It lies with whomever chooses to take the lives of innocent children.
No, how he does it is of very little significance, and in fact focusing on this through debates and outcries is wasting time and putting more lives at risk.
Why? Why would any one commit such crimes? What thoughts ran through their minds?
Perhaps they are mentally ill; sociopathic, psychotic and deluded!
Perhaps they are evil.
Perhaps they are merely another strand of terror and unjust killings that take part in our world.
How many children die every day in similar ways in other parts of the world?
How many children die in different ways in many parts of the world?
Inumerable amounts.
Is there an answer?
Is there a way to prevent this?
Sadly I think not.
So if perhaps your thoughts lie with those poor souls in Conneticut and Henan, spare a thought and a prayer for the forgotten little ones who are old news, but still perish.
They may not be of the Western World but they matter equally.
