A Christchurch dairy owner, who pulled out a slug pistol and opened fire at two machete wielding robbers, has been inundated with support from all over the country.
Add me to the list.
Yes, I do support violence in the issue of self defence. Machete wielding thugs need to take note. The government wont protect you. You could try setting up a union and going on strike. "No more robberies until the Government can guarantee my safety". Fill out a form and join the queue.
Note to Police: Be careful who you side with on this issue. You will be judged by the company you keep.

Good on the dairy owner. The comments of the police are disgraceful.
ReplyDeleteIf the dairy owner had hit them over the head with a frozen mutton roast (a far more lethal weapon than an air pistol) no-one would care. But just because it is a 'gun', suddenly the police panic.
At least everyone who reads the paper knows that it worked. Expect a rush on the gun shops over the next week for air pistols...
On hearing the news that the dairy owner, being threatened with a machete, pulled out an air pilstol and shot the assailant repeatedly in the face, my first thought was "shame it was only an air pistol, really."
ReplyDeleteThat's a strange thing for the police to do, Dad4justice. At the least they could have charged you AND the young punk.
ReplyDeleteYou could have then got off with a caution for "responding to violence with very strong words, some of which may have been construed as threatening." and the young punk could have been found guilty of ACTUALLY using violence.
I think the police generally do a great job; it's a puzzle and a worry when we come across the seemingly incomprehensible. Not all those cops are bent D4J Have faith!
I am with you, dad4justice. Why should you be charged at all? Your were attacked in your home, and your were charged for saying something in response. Indeed, the police work for Helengrad, and not the decent citizen. What a haven for ugly, violent, unprovoked crime NZ has become. Typical reaction from the police in the case of the dairy owner too.
ReplyDeleteI am just one of many victims of a bias feminist police force. The front page of the Ch Ch Star - "Angry resident takes on hoons - ends up in court".The story of Canterbury Engineer James Wilson is another sad indictment on a corrupt police force.
ReplyDeleteLook the police are rotten to the core and that is a FACT. Not until we get tough on corruption from within the ranks will cops be worthy of any respect.
All the GOOD decent cops left the police years ago, because the force is saturated in corruption and they were unable to stand the total lack of integrity.
ReplyDeleteI have many examples of filthy cop procedures, many of which are mind boggling.
It's a sad state of affairs when the majority of the public cannot trust cops.
No wonder Joe Average hates the blue gun thugs!!
Look, what actually happened was
ReplyDeleted4J, drunk as usual, was salivating over a picture of me when he slipped and hit his head on the bath.
The rest is as a result of his hallucinations...
And Angry resident takes on hoons - ends up in court". has a little more to it than the headline reveals.
This angry idiot has been charged because he intended to use violence to get his way; he went armed and HE caused the confrontation.
I know, I was there.
"..and HE caused the confrontation."
ReplyDeleteyeah, the inconsiderate swine--he should have simply ignored a carload of hoons racing around the streets.
Fugley illustrates a central truth here, folks.
ReplyDeleteIf we don't confront antisocial pigs and violent robbers and rapists and home invaders, why...NZ would be a far more peaceful place.
Bend over, hand over the goods, don't get angry, hope for the best, write a stern letter to the editor if you must.
But never, ever get angry!
A carload of hoons racing around the streets is a policing issue.
ReplyDeleteWhat's that you say? The police didn't attend? Well, how could they? Instead of calling the police, the idiot went out, armed, and set up a confrontation. He's now facing charges, and I for one am happy to see firm action against morons like that.
What was that about "two wongs don't make a white".
Unlike said idiot, I have also taken firm action against hoons when deemed essential to public order, but I have done it in a calm and rational manner and unarmed. Just like the police.
Now, before you get all ballistic on me, I support the dairy owner's action as he was in immediate danger and his response was in direct relation to the level of threat.
Unlike the last d4j idol, the idiot farmer who shot those he perceived as evil doers while they were departing. He deserved prosecution as there was no immediate threat and he'd seen one too many seppo movies.
But never, ever get angry!
ReplyDeleteis the closest thing to sense in your post.
Angry confrontation simply escalates the issue. As I said above, a calm and firm approach will be a better way.
Ever seen an angry cop? They're usually the ones who end up in court for overstepping the bounds.
Are you speaking of the farmer who attempted to make a citizens arrest of people escaping with his property?
ReplyDeleteIn a community where several incidents had continued unabated and the police "powerless" (read not interested in providing adequate resource due to the remote location) to prevent further crime?
Not convinced yet Fugley.
"As I said above, a calm and firm approach will be a better way."
ReplyDeleteRight. Dealing frequently as I do with amphetamine and booze-fuelled aggressive idiots who are utterly impervious to reason, mind if I quote them the Fugley Formula next time one wants to assault a nurse or a doc?
I'm sure that'll work a treat..
Not.
The problem in NZ Fugley, is that not enough citizens get angry. There's a time for anger, a time for direct action and until the police can afford staffing levels which are sufficient to personally guard every citizen--or penalties for antisocial behaviour which match the crime--then direct, angry action is the only thing which has a hope in hell of turning the tide.
ReplyDeleteSo, let me guess kg, you're a security guard, one of the poorest trained workforces in NZ. Too many are simply mono brow thugs with less intelligence than a neanderthal.
ReplyDeleteIf you had taken time to read and understand my post, you would see that I advocate the response being in proportion to the threat.
Hoons driving arond making a a noise - little or no threat, low level response.
Being threatened at close quarters by a machete wilelding thug, high level threat, high level response. You did see the bit where I supported the dairy owner's action, didn't you?
zen, shooting at fleeing people is not making a citizen's arrest, it is an act of anger or vengeance, but not justice. Guess you like the thought of living in a lawless world; I don't.
I understood he shot at them to stop, and it worked.
ReplyDeleteIt may be a fine line between vigilantism and citizens making arrests, but a citizens arrest would not be proof of lawlessness. The criminals getting away with crimes would. These guys were.
Incidentally, the same guys after ending up in court winging about being shot at for stealing his car (and other items) were allegedly involved in another car theft recently. There's a message there Fugley.
"So, let me guess kg, you're a security guard,"
ReplyDeleteYou guessed wrong.
"Hoons driving arond making a a noise - little or no threat, low level response."
Idiot comment. The hoons driving around making a noise are also usually driving around well in excess f the speed limit. And sure, there's "little or no threat"--until a kid runs out in front of them and they're travelling too fast to stop etc.
Fugley, we're already convinced you're at the very least naive and most probably an idiot to boot--why confirm it with every comment you make? Is it the attention you crave, or just a wilful refusal to recognise your limitations?
