Family cat died

Due to a death in the family of the favourite pet cat, my posting to the blog has been non-existent for the last several days. Normal service will resume shortly. Meanwhile, here is the cat in question: Marble, the licker of wet children's hair.

Comments

  1. My condolances. Family pet deaths are very difficult on our children and on us.

  2. Sorry to hear about your moggy, Lucyna.
Another kitten asap is probably a good idea. :-)

  3. Thanks Madeleine and KG,

I don't know about another kitten - we still have two cats and they seem to be friendlier now that the super friendly one is dead. Not sure if that's actually the case - we might just be imagining things.

I do confess to going into a pet shop yesterday and looking at some kittens, but they weren't tabbies, so it was easy to resist. Plus they were asleep. The kids were horrified that I went into a pet shop without them (they were both at friend's houses).

Marble died on Sunday morning across the road - most likely hit by a car. We didn't even know she crossed the road, but apparently she had a friend that she visited and sat under the house with. This was according to the lady who took me to her body and related all that she knew. There was a cat calling outside tonight - it was probably the friend wanting Marble to come across the road with him.

  4. Lucyna, a long time ago an American woman made a short movie about the secret lives of domestic cats. Apparently they have large social groups and they travel sometimes quite a long way to meet with the 'gang'.
I think we know far less about our beloved pets than we imagine!

I'm still looking for a ginger kitten too, but pet shops don't seem to be an ideal way to find a healthy one.
