Helen Clark summed up saying "stick with us because we've done a great job".
However, when the books were opened, we saw a big deep hole, no surplus, forecast high unemployment and the bureaucracy had grown to take nearly double what it needed back in 1999, and we are not talking front line here. And this week, an adjustment to the PREFU was released by treasury taking into account the world recession (yes, it was just Labour's financial management responsible for the first one) and the accounts are worse.
"Stick with us" rings hollow. But that's just the tip of the iceberg.
The news that Brad Shipton will serve less than three years for an 8 year rape sentence reminds me of another sad story.
In one case, a young Chef is harassed by a gang of 5 youths on a bus. In fear for his life, he pulls out his chef's knife and stabs one of them. No criminal history and yet he gets 2 years jail for self defence.
In another recent story, a tagger gets caught in the act and told off by a member of public. That person then gets stabbed by the tagger. The tagger, with a criminal history gets 150 hours community service. That history included not showing up for previous community service.
Things are rotten in the state of Denmark. But they smell a lot better than here in New Zealand.
Get out and vote this weekend, and change the government.
This statement probably contravenes the Electoral Finance Act, and I could possibly take it all the way to the Privy Council, but that's another problem caused by Labour.

Oh the bitterness now your barbi doll for VP has been vanquished by a dusky Ken. :-)

Rex, the bitterness is all from the news Shipton serves less than 3 years after being sentenced to 8 years and three months for rape.
ReplyDeleteYour comment isn't even on topic, and is wrong. As I've said in other posts, Sarah Palin as VP now was a great move, because it will be harder to argue against a lack of experience in 2012. This has been a great campaign for her.
I hope she uses the next four years to develop the skills necessary to hammer the Democrats and earn a place in the presidential race.
Who knows, she may even be running for Pres? An entertaining thought, just from the inevitable reaction from the left.
