Anyone watching the leaders debate on TV3 Between Helen Clark and John Key? What do you think? Who is winning? Leave comments here. Not sure I like John Campbell's style; he's a lot more aggressive than Sainsbery. I don't know if I'll be able to stomach watching the whole thing. I saw Helen on Breakfast this morning, and although I've heard crap come out of her mouth before, I've never heard so much crap at one time...
No Minister have been running a thread, with lots of comments. I am incapable of offering an objective view.. Snaggle tooth looks like her teeth have been whitened, she blustered all the way through and campbell was his usual flappy armed idiocy.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the commentators who said the debate was a bit of a bore - and that John Key will be our next PM.
ReplyDeleteA tame draw. Blame the Ref. Campbell's ego gets in the way. He keeps interjecting and I got the impression he didn't really listen to the answers. Not enough to turn it for Labour and nothing to stop Key and National. Linda Clark is quite sharp. The university guy was bland, but at least we weren't inflicted with another dose of Duncan Garner, Guyon Espiner or Barry Soper!
ReplyDeleteMissed the debate. Out on swimming lesson duty. Sounds like I didn't miss much. Will drop in on No Minister and read the thread later tonight once the task list is under a million.
ReplyDeleteThought the debate was good. Nothing one hasn't heard before, but what can one expect? Plenty of sound bites and cliches but seeing them duel was what it was all about.
ReplyDeleteThe worst thing about it was the post match review. The panelists (all 3 of them) were just bloody awful. They were so negative and incessantly whinging that I struggled to make it to the end of their blabberings. If they wanted something new then that should have been hassling John Campbell about his questions. He brought up the usual topics: trust, economy, coalition partners etc., so WTF were they expecting?! The TV One analysis two weeks ago was infinitely better.
I agree Sean, the panelists were vomit inducing.
ReplyDeleteWhat strikes me about this election is how full of themselves all these political "experts" are. One could make a fortune selling grindstones to TV1/TV3 at the moment.
