It's chat time!
I keep forgetting it's Friday, so almost didn't do this post.
It is Friday, isn't it?
I just feel like a new creation today. Everything is new. It's Day One, and I'm beginning again. For the Catholics out there, I've just been to Confession last night, and received the Lord this morning. I'll stuff it up soon enough, but for now I'm enjoying where I am.

Hello Lucyna. Happy new year.
ReplyDeleteHow is the Church dealing with the putrid priest who desecrated the monument to a past Israeli PM? The Church has made an apology but I'm interested to know whether the imbecile will be disciplined.
Adolf, I wish I knew what was going to happen. Normally this time of year is when appointments are made, so at the very least Fr Burns ought to either step down from his position as Vicar General or be reassigned. However, given all the other dubious (internal) things that have occurred over the years, I'm not sure how likely this is.
ReplyDeleteThe heat's not bad here, BB.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too (and to Adolf)!
Though, I did start wishing we had a swimming pool. Would make a change from the overgrown backyard.
So, is it a good time to ask about your avatar?
I pinched the avatar from a forum site based in England. The V for vendetta avatar had been copied by many and I felt like a change now we have a change in govt.. As I tend to preach... I thought the avatar fitted.
ReplyDeleteI have another which I intend to use after my birthday in february
Hi all. My last Friday holiday before back to work.
ReplyDeleteI'm not counting the time I've spent in the garden this week as work. It's closer to combat. Indeed, a flame thrower would have been the most useful garden implement - yet they don't stock them at the local Placemakers.
I see the Wellington Archbishop John Dew has apologised for Fr Burns' actions and distanced the Catholic Church from such behaviour. A good start, but the story is not yet over.
I will probably post further on this topic later, so maybe we could find something more interesting to talk about?
I have to give up my computer to my son, who needs it to play "Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War." Maybe I will look for food and wine in the meantime.
Back later.
Evening all - Happy New Year and all that.
ReplyDeleteFr Burns seems to be a bit misguided - is he related to Fr Ted? He's clearly not an OT scholar!
The Father Ted series is on my "must watch again" list.
ReplyDeleteBB,
ReplyDeleteThis is what I am wondering about. If it fits, does it mean that you are the anti-Pope, or do you think that the current Pope is an evil alien set on enslaving the world?
So many possibilities beyond those two as well.
Opps, sorry, Zen - didn't see your post here. I whacked up a post on the apology when I saw it in the paper version of the Herald.
ReplyDeleteLucy, it is not Pope related in anyway whatsoever. I just like the pic so I stole it.
ReplyDeleteAh, but, that's JP II's Papal Crucifix.... BB, it borders on blasphemous. Catholics coming to this site are going to wonder about the image, just as I have wondered.
ReplyDeleteNow that you've explained, I do believe that it just looks like a cool image to you. However, every time I see it, I flinch.
I had no idea.. It will be changed within days, I will need to find something suitable..
ReplyDeleteBB, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate that you will do that. It's such a relief that you had no idea!

ReplyDeleteDuly changed. This is a holding pic until such time as the calendar will allow me to reveal the permanent.

ReplyDeleteFletch - it's good that you posted it. I just thought it worth putting up on the blog.
ReplyDeleteOne thing about going camping- it makes you appreciate the comforts of home!
ReplyDeleteEvening all. Coping with two kittens and getting ready for night shif here.
ReplyDeleteHasn't the weather been great?
I was hoping the recent 40 degree days here in Christchurch would melt the toxic fugley into oblivion, but no, sadly the twisted filth still lurks on net causing havoc with his spiteful and malicious rhetoric.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year everybody else.
Well, that was a strange blip. I don't know if anyone else was affected, but I had only a white screen presented to me at every blogspot address I went to just now. Anyway, back again.
ReplyDeleteHi KG! Kittens, how fun... and hard work.
Hi Oswald! Camping and I do not mix, so I can understand how you'd be happy to be back home. Hotel rooms aren't so crash, hot either.
Hi D4J! Happy New Year to you too. I've been a bit slack in keeping the place clean lately - that good weather has been ensuring I've been outside gardening, rather than inside trapped in front of a computer screen. 40 degrees is only bearable with air conditioning.
Rain is coming.. Thank goodness. My water tank was completely drained by my legions of jafa visitors. Flushing number ones and having 30 minute showers. I have had to top the tank up with irrigation water and am brushing my teeth with bottled water.
ReplyDeleteWeather's been very acceptable in my neck of the woods. However, I have missed several opportunities to host a BBQ. A mistake that will be rectified shortly.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year D4J.
Water tanks and city folk don't mix. Install a shutoff valve. They can finish rinsing their hair with a cup of water or just pass some shears through the window so they can shave it off.
Good morning everyone.
ReplyDeleteIt's around 30-odd degrees here too.
But I'm talking fahrenheit.
Happy New Year to everyone.
