Lucia Friday night free for all

Is it the end of summer? Surely not.

Yet this morning, it was cool enough in my kitchen for me to bring the heater out!

At least there are no fires anywhere. The last few Christmases before we moved from Australia to NZ were really smokey from fires burning nearby. I can't imagine what it would be like having a massive fire bearing down on you. Even living in Sydney during the time it was ringed by fire with the sky completely covered in smoke and ash, I never felt unsafe. Maybe it's because the CBD was nearby and fires never really get that close to cities. But to be out in the wilds ... I just can't imagine it.

My heart goes out to my prior adopted home and the massive loss of life there.

Good evening Lucyna. Thanks for your kind thoughts about the Aussie bushfires.
It is cold..although tonight is our last night shift of the week we've lit the logfire, so the house will be less chilled in the morning.
The kittens seem to have taken over the place, which is a lot of fun. :-)

Good eveng Lucyna.
Good evening KG.
The change in the weather in NZ is very pleasant.
After a colk UK weinter with snow, it seemed too hot yesterday.
I do hope australia is also cooling down and with as much rain as hamilton enjoyed.

Evening Lucyna, KG & FF. Sad to see that prolificacy has become a punishable offence FF ... good to see that Lindsay & Oswald both see animals as important in their lives and the lives of others ... & it would appear that Os may have turned off the wrong valve & the ensuing problems escalated excrementally, 'sabotage' they're calling it. & gosh, it is good it is Friday!

Bon soir.

A traditional meal tonight. Pizza.

Well, traditional in the Tiger household as far as Friday fare goes.

Although, in addition to fine Italian, our international cuisine will also extend to a turkish dish and an Australian wine.

We have so much culture, the fridge probably has yoghurt.

Who was it said "whenever I hear the word culture, I reach for my gun?"
I suspect he was referring to yoghurt.

Not guilty!

Last thing I'm going to do is let a few thousand cubic meters of raw sewerage loose when I live about a kilometer away!

Evening all. It's been along hard day, sitting for hours behind idiots doing seveny kph on open highways between Whitianga and Auckland.

Mojo, you might need to think again. From the Oxford dictionary:-

· adj. recklessly extravagant or wasteful. Ø licentious; dissolute.
· n. a profligate person.
– DERIVATIVES profligacy n. profligately adv

Have a nice pizza.

That's the one KG! Continuing with my theme of high culture, that's the film of the evening.

Hi KG,

Having a home overrun by kittens is not to daunting, I hope! I wouldn't do it again, but for me it was 4 kittens from birth to a mother cat that was barely out of kitten-hood herself. All that kitty-litter is just too much.

I had a dream about getting a dog last night - still thinking about this concept, though.

Hi FF,

Climate adjustment is hard!

My sister phoned!

Stream of consciousness to writing a blog post comment has been interrupted (and I started this comment over an hour ago - not sure how much over an hour).

However, my sister was talking to a guy who was involved in forensics in Melbourne, and he said he thinks there's upwards of 600 dead in the fires and the media are just playing it down.

That's just even more incredible if he's right.

Hey, if you're all going to break into German, I've had enough of that during the week.

Babel fish is your friend, like, a 5 year old friend.

Are we doing puns tonight?

ZenTiger said...

Absolutely. Although I might wait to get a few more comments before clearing the premises.

Pizza and Lindauer everyone.

Can we have a punnet of puns Zentiger?

*sigh* to the coalface. Hopefully the cold, wet weather will keep the loopies indoors. Last night we had a whole bunch turn up drunk and aggressive at 1:30am, wanting to visit a family member.
Apparently we were 'racist' for refusing 'em admission....

I think these day's it's racist and exclusiveistiarianismanial to even keep passwords to things like blogs

It's all about being "open" man...

actually, that probably sounds more random than I meant.

A fellow received a mouse for his birthday and he loved it so much that he never parted with it.

He took this mouse everywhere, to work, to parties, to the opera...

One day, a good friend of his died and so he went to pay his respects. Naturally, he took the mouse, which was perched on his shoulder.

On his way home, he suddenly realized that the mouse was gone! He retraced all his moves for the day and realised that the last place he had seen the mouse was at the funeral.

He raced back across town, but it was too late. The mouse must have jumped off his shoulder while he was sitting in the hearse.

He spoke to the funeral directors, but they couldn't find it: it had completely vanished.

The man was filled with grief as he remembered an old adage his mother had told him time and time again as a kid:

Never lock a gift mouse in the hearse.

Just finished watching the Zohan.

It's to sex what splatter is to Zombie movies.

It's like going over the top and discovering a spew bucket awaiting on the other side.

It's like contraception for the brain - the complete blockage of ideas. Now if I can only block some of the memories.

That aside, there were several hilarious moments, insane stereotypical jokes that just worked (you can't go wrong making fun of hummus) and a nice bit of American patriotism wrapped up in puppies at the end.
