The EU in its wisdom has distributed diaries for the school children within its domains.
A nice seasonal gesture you might think.
But despite marking dates of import to the EU itself such as Europe Day and Islamic, Hindu, Sikh and Jewish festivals Christian ones are conspicuous by their absence.
Which includes Christmas Day itself is left blank apart from the innocuous slogan "A true friend is someone who shares your concerns and will double your joy".

ReplyDeleteI see also that the Red Cross in Britain has censored all it's 430-odd stores by removing any mention of Christmas in case of offending Muslims. This is just getting ridiculous...
ReplyDeleteChristmas has been banned by the Red Cross from its 430 fund-raising shops.
Staff have been ordered to take down decorations and to remove any other signs of the Christian festival because they could offend Moslems.
The charity's politically-correct move triggered an avalanche of criticism and mockery last night - from Christians and Moslems.
Christine Banks, a volunteer at a Red Cross shop in New Romney, Kent, said: 'We put up a nativity scene in the window and were told to take it out. It seems we can't have anything that means Christmas. We're allowed to have some tinsel but that's it.
'When we send cards they have to say season's greetings or best wishes. They must not be linked directly to Christmas.
'When we asked we were told it is because we must not upset Moslems.'
Mrs Banks added: ' We have been instructed that we can't say anything about Christmas and we certainly can't have a Christmas tree.
' I think the policy is offensive to Moslems as well as to us. No reasonable person can object to Christians celebrating Christmas. But we are not supposed to show any sign of Christianity at all.'
Labour peer Lord Ahmed, one of the country's most prominent Moslem politicians, said: 'It is stupid to think Moslems would be offended.

Removing religious displays from Red Cross stores is NOT censorship, it is good corporate policy.
ReplyDeleteIn case you hadn't noticed, the Red Cross is NOT a religious body.
LRO, don't be silly. Christmas is an international holiday, celebrated by countries with Judeo -Christian heritage (like Britain). There are many more larger corporates than the Red Cross that celebrate Christmas.
ReplyDeleteIt's just political correctness or (to call it by it's real name) cultural marxism.
Funny, a few years back xians kept moaning about xmas being too commercial. Now, it seems, it isn't commercial enough for you. make up your minds.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't see many countries with a judeo heritage celebrating xmas.
Here's anothr knicker twister for you.
ReplyDeleteAfter eliminating denominational education from schools, the Quebec government announced plans Friday to extend its ban on religious instruction to toddlers.
Daniel Weinstock, a professor of philosophy at the Université de Montréal, said it makes sense for children attending state-subsidized daycare not to be indoctrinated in a specific religion, even if that is what their parents wish.
“Religious communities and families hold sway over children through the household and through churches, mosques and synagogues,” he said. “I don’t see it as a problem for daycares and schools to be, in a way, a kind of counterweight to the hold that religious communities and families have over their children.”

And here's another charity to avoid.

Morons!
Is there anything to be drawn from the fact that LRO posts here near daily, yet hasn't written a post on his blog since ANZAC day?
ReplyDeleteI think LRO doesn't care if the West becomes Muslim, because that is what will happen of Christianity is pushed put in this way.
ReplyDeleteWhy would he care, Lucia Maria? To him, one totalitarian regime would be as good as another.
