Excitement over potential exorcism by the Pope

Yes, the devil is real.  That's probably why this video has caused so much excitement as we in the West (including New Zealand especially) really don't want him to exist.

However, it's best not to be too interested in him, and go to regular Confession as your major protection from him.  He's not called The Accuser for nothing, and if a person has major unforgiven sins on their soul, they can be in real danger.

  1. ROTFLMAO

(or is that a sign of demonic possession?)

No, you're perfectly safe with laughing.

  4. Easy to say, Isumbras, but a lot harder to prove.

How did the devil do this?

  5. Ah.... He has, and has had many willing helpers LRO...

  6. Infallible test of discernment: The devil will tell you to, "Settle for Less", or alternatively to settle for the constructs of popular opinion: MSM opinion.

  7. Isumbras, I did not ask if he did it, I asked HOW he did it. Do you have an answer?

Monique, I don't care what the devil tells YOU, but he and I never speak; I don't listen to the little voices in your head.

are you people REALLY that dense? Obviously.

    Self delusion is an illusion.

  8. Isumbras, very true!

Monique, great to see you here!

LRO, through inspiration. We can be inspired by the evil angels around us, or inspired by the good angels around us. It comes down to who we choose to listen to.

If you want to get an idea of how the devil and his minions influence us, and make us think we thought of whatever ourselves, I'd recommend The Screwtape Letters. Highly enlightening.

  9. Update from AP:
"The Rev. Gabriele Amorth, a leading exorcist for the diocese of Rome, said he performed a lengthy exorcism of his own on the man Tuesday morning and ascertained he was possessed by four separate demons. The case was related to the legalization of abortion in Mexico City, he said.

Amorth told RAI state radio that even a short prayer, without the full rite of exorcism being performed, is in itself a type of exorcism".

  10. Hi Lucia, I read Screwtape Letters in my teens. You are aware that they are fictional, just like the bible? Oh, wait...

  11. "The greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing the world that he did not exist"

The evidence for the existence of the devil is identical to the evidence for the existence of god; non existent.

What to you then would be evidence? Things like what?

  13. mzala.

I have a unicorn in my back yard. Only people who believe in unicorns can see it, but I can still prove it exists. I can show you books about unicorns, I can show you pictures of unicorns. I can tell you stories of the things unicorns have done in my life. But if you want to SEE a unicorn, first you must believe!

Is that sufficient evidence for my unicorn?

  14. LRO, well you might need to the book again. I'm certainly aware it's fiction, but it does give an insight into how demons might very well operate by a person who thought a lot about good and evil, and was extremely insightful as well.

However, by linking The Screwtape Letters to the Bible in the way that you did, you lead me to believe you very well know how demons influence people and are just playing Devil's Advocate.

I have had very personal experience with an attempt of possession or something like it, so I know there is something out there that is very unpleasant, that is just waiting for an invitation. But then that on a whole different level from just trying to influence by suggestion.

  15. Mzala, You have probably already read it, but in case not, Fr Gabriele's book 'An Exorcist tells his story' is well worth a look.... as is Fr Malachi Martin's Hostage to the Devil.... 5 exorcisms in which he was involved ... chilling...
LRO... yeah I know what you mean, lately I've decided Alexander the Great, Socrates and King Canute are all fictional as well....

"I have a unicorn in my back yard"

Actually you don't nor do you believe that. So you resort to a lie. But of course, lies don't exist in your world because you don't believe they do. And we know who is the father of lies,he who was a liar and a murderer from the beginning.
