According to reports on Fox News and Brietbart.com, and apparently confirmed by the Pentagon, soldiers in the U.S Army could be court marshalled for sharing their Christian faith, even in private with another soldier. The Pentagon has been consulting with Christian-hater Mikey Weinstein, founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) to come up with their policy on religious tolerance.
The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: "Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense...Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis...”.There has been quite a lot of talk recently about "intolerance" and "hate speech", especially as regards those who disagree with same sex marriage; however, if you want to hear real hate speech just read this bile and overblown rhetoric from Weinstein (I can almost see him standing up in front of a crowd, speaking in German and bashing his fist on a lectern) .
(From our earlier report: Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians--including chaplains--sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of “treason,” and of committing an act of “spiritual rape” as serious a crime as “sexual assault.” He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are “enemies of the Constitution.”)
Regarding those who teach orthodox Christian beliefs from the Bible, Weinstein concludes, “Let’s call these ignoble actions what they are: the senseless and cowardly squallings of human monsters.”
[...]
“We MUST vigorously support the continuing efforts to expose pathologically anti-gay, Islamaphobic, and rabidly intolerant agitators for what they are: die-hard enemies of the United States Constitution. Monsters, one and all. To do anything less would be to roll out a red carpet to those who would usher in a blood-drenched, draconian era of persecutions, nationalistic militarism, and superstitious theocracy.”
If these fundamentalist Christian monsters of human degradation, marginalization, humiliation and tyranny cannot broker or barter your acceptance of their putrid theology, then they crave for your universal silence in the face of their rapacious reign of theocratic terror. Indeed, they ceaselessly lust, ache, and pine for you to do absolutely nothing to thwart their oppression. Comply, my friends, and you, too, become as monstrously savage as are they. I beg you, do not feed these hideous monsters with your stoic lethargy, callousness and neutrality. Do not lubricate the path of their racism, bigotry, and prejudice. Doing so directly threatens the national security of our beautiful nation.Until 2011, the U.S Military had a policy called Don't Ask Don't Tell which "prohibited military personnel from discriminating against or harassing closeted homosexual or bisexual service members or applicants, while barring openly gay, lesbian, or bisexual persons from military service." (thanks Wiki). That's all changed now, and it almost seems like Christians are the new 'homosexuals' in the forces. Only even worse.
Good truly is becoming evil and evil becoming good in the eyes of these leaders.
Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
~Isaiah 5:20
Here we go again, the whingeing and the moaning when christian privelege is denied.
ReplyDeleteA few points you might like to consider, although they nay cause your brain to explode.
1. Mike Weinstein is NOT "Christian-hater", he is simply someone who has no need for religion in his life and is doing his best to uphold the US Constitution. And his opposition to religious proseltysing is all religions, not just the hate mongering evangelical slavering christians of the US military.
2. "Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense... is the correct ruling. And it is from the pentagon, not the MRFF. In case it escaped your notice, those in the US military are there voluntarily, they are at work and so should be free from workplace harassment.
3. Mike Weinstein and others like him who take a stand against enforced religion in the ,military are subjected to incredivle levels of vitriol and hatred. I have seen emails sent to Mike weinstein and they make me sick to the stomach. And everyone of those emails was written BY A XTIAN. And the majority abuse mike because of his Jewish sounding surname, make vile threats against his wife and family and can only come from a mind poisoned by religious dogma.

Michael Weinstein. You and the mfrr have nothing better to do than bully and fight the Christian soldiers who built this nation. From the wreckage of the indian savages? And made it the only shining light of the world? Have you forgotten history? Our soldiers are made strong because of their faith in Jesus Christ and Christianity. When America’s soldiers are strong America is strong. I am such a soldier. Proud of my Savior and the USA. One among many in my unit who know you for what you truely are. A bunch of us at chapel watched some of the speeches you gave. On you tube. We all noticed how much you resemeble the devil. Seriously you do. And you have the devils slippery powers of false persuasion too. You and the devil both hate Christ. You and the devil are the losers. You will both have hell as your home for all ages to come. Your life is totally a waste. Mr. Weinstein give it up and surrender to the Word of Christ. Our fighting forces fight with Jesus as our Lord and leader in all things. Deal with it. You try to mess with that and you totally deserve to suffer. Your fallen childrens deserve to suffer. Your fallen wife deserves to suffer. Your fallen parents deserve to suffer. All your fallen friends of the mfrr deserve to suffer too. And they will.
LRO, so you quote from some extremist whose website is 'hellfyre' (and who describes himself as "a vampire-devil blogger") and think that is representative of the way Christians think/act? Why would you think that? Sounds like a setup to me: this Hellfyre is no Christian and neither is the reply from "fukjew".
ReplyDeleteSounds like it's all made up to the furtherance of giving Christians a bad name.
You're setting up and knocking down straw men.
ps, I wonder if they will ban soldiers from sharing their Islamic faith? Doesn't sound like it.
It's pretty scary stuff, putting the US military on par with a hard core Islamic state, if this thing goes through.
ReplyDeleteLRO, All that whingeing and moaning as you put it, is protecting your religious freedom not to have a religion as well, and to be able to spread that idea to others if you so choose. Religious freedom is the fundamental freedom that underpins freedom of conscience. Get rid of it and you pave the way for being told what to think. Like it or not, tolerance of Christians in the West is the canary in the coalmine for all freedoms, whether you are aware of this or not.
