Bystander Apathy

The Herald is hand wringing: Attack highlights 'bystander apathy'

Meanwhile the BBC reports on the fate of a man who came to the aid of a train conductor: 'Big Man' charged over train eviction

21st century disconnect.

  1. Yep. Wasn't there a guy stabbed to death in Auckland, recently when he came to the aid of somebody being assaulted?
It's a bit rich for the police to constantly lecture people about "taking the law into their own hands" then expect them to come someone's aid, especially since a bystander could very easily be charged for using "excessive force".

  2. LRO. Try again, making a rational comment worthy of a professed humanist.

You do not need to make personal attacks and use phrases like:

unlike you who would either do...

    and
    You get all orgasmic when...

    and
And andre (sic) continues his usual dissembling

    and
But of course, in the world you lot inhabit there are no punishments except beatings and death.

Your theory seems to be that we inhabit a different world. If that's the case, then the method you use to look into it appears to be faulty.
