It was a fairly strong and prolonged quake with a range of shaking motions. And yet, only a couple of books off the bookshelf. I'm somewhat surprised (and grateful) it wasn't worse. Hopefully, a one off with no further after shocks.
How did others fare? Any damage?
Yep, had two very frightened cats and a freaked out boy. So, here in Kapiti it felt like a 5.5 at the most.
