Kitchen renovation update with floor installed

This is my kitchen with the bamboo floor installed as of Friday last week.

Today was electrical work, which included finding out that the kitchen cabinet designers didn't leave a proper void for the power cable coming up the end of the bench in the picture there, and they made a mistake on the size of the oven so that it wouldn't slide all the way in. Both these problems have been fixed now, so my oven fits and there is space for that power cable.

There's no light in there right now, so I can't take a photo which includes my newly fitted double oven.

So many other newsworthy items to post on, and my kitchen is taking up all of my brain space and time. That and coordinating everything else.

  1. Lucia,
As I mentioned earlier , we had to have our bathroom renovated as climbing in and out of our old bath to have a shower was becoming less and less user-friendly for our aging limbs.
We got various quotes and made the decision to use Just Bathrooms... a decision we could not be happier with...Jeff's organizing skills and workmanship was spot on and we are thrilled with the results.
am not sure where you live Lee John .. we are in Auckland ... if anyone is in need of bathroom renovations I would recommend him for sure ...

Lucia, I hope that you and yours are every bit as happy with your finished renovations as we are,

  2. Hi Mrs Mac,

I'm mostly happy. Unfortunately there have been a number of problems and lack of attention to detail in some areas. Some I've made a big fuss about, and others I've just dealt with. It's just about over - now all we have to do is loan more money to pay for the rewiring that had to be done.

  3. I agree, Lee John, kitchens do need more care when it comes to renovation work ...but for bathrooms we can not fault the work done by Just bathrooms ( link above)
Lucia ...maybe by now all the work is finished ... happy cooking !

  4. Hi Mrs Mac,

I'm trying not to encourage Lee John, as he is spamming this site with his ads. I've deleted quite a few of his comments now, and will have to turn off comments to all my kitchen updates to deter him, as deleting his comments hasn't done the trick.
