Poland Banning Discussion of Homosexuality in Schools

In EU right now we have on the one hand Britain experimenting with teaching very young children about gay relationships and making it illegal for religious schools to teach that homosexuality is immoral, and on the other, Poland to be making any discussion of homosexuality in schools completely illegal.
The Polish government is to ban discussions on homosexuality in schools and educational institutions across the country, with teachers facing the sack, fines or imprisonment.

Poland's education minister, Roman Giertych, has said he hopes to introduce a similar ban across the entire EU.

Mr Giertych, the leader of the ultra-conservative League of Polish Families, a junior coalition partner in the government of prime minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, said the aim of the proposed law would be to "prohibit the promotion of homosexuality and other deviance".

...

The European Commission has condemned the Polish government, whose motto is "moral renewal", for its homophobic views.

During a visit to Poland at the weekend, the EU's current president, the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, delivered a thinly veiled warning to Poland's anti-gay politicians, telling an audience that Europe was a "continent of tolerance ... that understands variety not as a threat but as enrichment".
I do find it interesting that Angela Merkel is not also warning Britain about intolerance. It seems the only type of intolerance that is allowed is intolerance against those who consider certain lifestyles immoral.

  1. Eastern Europe may yet turn out to be the salvation of Europe.

An alliance with the Pope and the Patriarchs of the Eastern Church plus the influx of religious from that part of the world just may turn the tide.

  4. Excellent link Redbaiter. That is a real example of intolerance.

The above article is not an issue of intolerance, but one of appropriateness.

On one hand, these people argue that religion should be taken out of the school system; but then demand uncommon sexual preferences become a topic of discussion for 6 year olds.

Yep, and that's why the left will never get it.. their mule like refusal to consider any political dimension other than their own, or take on board any information that might make them begin to doubt their beliefs.

That story is really what it is all about. The left's objective is the control of our culture, and the repression of any ideas that challenge their own ideas.

Throughout history, they have pursued this objective, and killed millions when their methods were less sophisticated. They're not murdering these days, at least not in Western society, but the outcome they are working towards is the same. Totalitarianism.

The story I have linked to is the tip of the iceberg. Everywhere that people are trying to voice ideas that challenge the left, there are similar disgusting attempts at suppression, control and intimidation.

  6. Nothing is aimed at "gays'.. (correct word, homosexuals) people are merely concerned at homosexual propaganda being part of the curriculam. This is not a matter for schools.

"there really is little point engaging with people like you, all fevered up and quite unable to summon up a rational thought to back up your blatherings."

Really, I'm not that humourous that the above statement didn't make me laff out loud, especially after I'd read the offering directly above-

"I saw the words David Horowitz Zen and I just thought blah."

Leftists are so bigoted and ignorant and blind.
