Silly little man

Why is anybody paying this character any attention. He's a nobody but people are "reaching out to him" to ask him to desist from his plan to burn the Koran.

The media shouldn't have given him any oxygen but now they have of course and he is basking in his notoriety - his fifteen minutes of fame.

Fools like this should be ignored by everybody but the narrative is just too attractive to the banal mass media - a wacko Christian showing his intolerance and stirring up a segment of society with a grievance mentality.

In a rational world he would have his little bonfire and everybody would ignore it realizing he is just a nutter.

But the world is far from rational so he will have his moment of glory and help turn the solemn remembrance of the dead of 9/11 into a circus with the media as an accessory.

  1. Soooooo .. in order to tell everyone they should ignore this man you pay attention to him?

    Nice strategy. :|

  3. Andrei,

I was wondering the same thing this morning. If the media ignored the idiot, then there would be no story.

  4. Far better sport to discuss intolerance from a wacko Christian Minister than the ongoing intolerance experienced by wacko Islamic extremists living in America, Canada, and the UK calling for Sharia Law and inciting hatred against the Western Culture they chose to live in.

  5. Stripe - I suspect this post isn't really about giving the story air, but more about countering the inevitable conclusion all Christians are of one, like mind on this issue by clearly stating a different opinion.

Personally, I also happen to think a lot of Muslims are moderate, don't wish to interpret the Koran literally, and are quite keen to embrace Western values around freedom and equality.

I also think the Islamic radicals are numerous, dangerous, and driven by a political ideology as much as a religious viewpoint.

How the two groups reconcile Islam remains to be seen, and how Western Society reconciles freedom of religion, moral relativism and values that are at odds with our culture and laws is also another issue that remains to be seen.

  6. Finally, and most rarely, I have to disagree with you Andrei & Zentiger. But recognise that I do so without being slanderous or abusive. Those who aren't Christians I know in advance that you will disagree with me, so I understand that difference and let's leave it there. Please understand it is just a difference of views and not a slur on your character/outlook/beliefs or mine. In any case you may reply anyway.

You need to realise that the Islamic religion is in reality a demonic manifestation that uses deception to mislead people. "Allah" is a demon whose intent is to push a system of belief that is false. Anything that is false is a work of satan who is the father of lies.

Islam cannot be reconciled to Chrisianity any more than any other system of belief that is in opposition to God. That includes the beliefs written in the Qu'ran.

Of course individual Muslims are God's creation and are valued as people in God's eyes and mine. You would do well do read Brother Andrew's books on Islam, including his true story of "moderate" muslim's who live in "moderate" muslim countries and have converted to Christianity. It is not a pretty sight. That is because of the hostility that satan shows to those who try to leave the chains of this false religion.

This Christian Minister is calling the Muslim religion for what it really is: an demonic power that seeks to enslave people. I don't wage war against Muslim's, but I do wage war, on their behalf, against the Prince of the power of darkness.

  8. What I want to know is where is the outrage for the preemptive burning of the American flag? Why is it ok for them to burn whatever they want with no repercussion?

  9. They kill 3,000 innocent people one bright September morning, rape sodomize and murder schoolchildren in Beslan and so on and on and on and we're supposed to demonstrate "sensitivity" towards their murder manual?
It'll be a cold day in hell before that ideology gets a jot of respect from me.

  10. And Andrei, we don't need "solemn remembrance of the dead of 9/11" so much as white-hot anger towards the ideology and the people who did it.

Please, let's not call it "disagreement." I don't "disagree" with people who've given themselves over to a fantasy world in which magical beings fight an unseen war using humans as proxies, I just feel sorry for them and hope they regain a grasp on reality one day.

What I want to know is where is the outrage for the preemptive burning of the American flag?

Ever asked any Americans what they think of their flag getting burned? "Outrage" doesn't really cover it...

Yes we do Keith - the anger is there and for all the other atrocities not the least for Beslan for which the anniversary fell last week.

The problem with gestures like the pastors is that it allows for the Muslim victimology card to be
played and Liberals in particular then use that as to "excuse" the atrocities which are of course inexcusable.

I don't feel sorry for you - so I guess our "actions" are in disagreement.

I guess feeling sorry for me implies greater derision then disagreement, at least I can restrain myself to disagreeing with you instead of regarding you as some sort of crackpot. Remember, it is your opinion that I am wrong. It doesn't mean you or I have an objective claim to truth. Having never met you in person, I find it a little presumptuous that I can regard you with derision; it's quite interesting that you seem to have that ability yourself wrt me.

  14. Hi Matthew,

I agree with you that Islam is a false religion. However, it does have elements of truth within it, and because of that, can lead individuals to God.

I'm going to have to leave it there, as I have far more to say on this than I know how to say at this point.

  15.

Most everything bad has an element of truth to it. It has to, otherwise it wouldn't be very popular.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Fair enough about the remembrance, Andrei.
But the fact of the matter is that muslims have learned (or rather, been taught by dhimmi Westerners) that the victimology card works.
If avoiding them playing that card were to become the yardstick when we wish to speak up about that ideology then we will have become very effectively silenced.
It's a deliberate tactic on their part and idiots persist in falling for it.

  19. Thanks for your response and comments Lucia Maria. I think it is fair to say that there is some truth in people who hold to the Islamic faith, but the essential aspects of the Christian Worldview are denied nonetheless by Moslems.

The spirit behind Islam is however, a liar and has nothing but an anti-christ spirit (cf. 2 John and Ephesians 6).

    Thanks again.
