Norway killer Anders Behring Breivik trial: day eight as it happened
It was the last day that Breivik was testifying, now it's going to be victim testimony.

I'm trying to work out the point of this show trial. He could easily have been tried and convicted, without the circus.
ReplyDeleteKG, yes, he could have.
ReplyDeleteThough, I did find it more interesting that I thought I would. Little details, like the fact that he meditates every day to keep himself from feeling what he's done. From a Catholic point of view, meditation can be extremely dangerous as you can open yourself up to various evil influences.
He did also say he was very attracted to Catholicism, but that's as far as it went, it seems. It's one thing to be attracted, it's another to do what it takes to become Catholic.
And how he grew up without his Dad around all the time and a very strange mother, that was also very interesting. I've just been reading about how a major formative time for boys is at age 2 when they identify with their fathers (or not).
Anyway, I don't think he's insane. I wonder what the Norwegians will think as they seem to be very much of the psychiatric point of view in regards to crime rather than some people just like to watch the world burn, as Alfred said to Batman in the Dark Knight. Not that I think that Breivik is quite in that category, evil for evil's sake.
