Friday night free for all

I'm wilting, wilting ... but the chat is on.

Comments

  1. I too am wilting ... but probably an artefact of the scotch, the Sav Blanc and the big crayfish ... sometimes excess really takes its toll.
    Good evening, Lucyna.

  2. Evening all. Hello Mojo. Is that a John Key, Shark Free Crayfish?

  3. Good evening Lucyna, Zen, Mojo.
I'm willing, but the flesh is weak...Need more sleep and I have to work tonight.
The most I can do is doze and occasionally type a few words.
(a Certain Person says "so what's new?")

  4. Evening all, if you think it is hot down there..... Try the Bay of Islands....... Stinking hot and I have spent the last three days on a tractor with no roof. This would have to be the best weather I have experienced up here.......

  5. Only 32 here yeaterday BB. Lovely weather. :-)

  6. It was a 'biggie' Zen.The only bites were mine ... and Key's burley trails were luring crabs, a manifold sort of pest, something somewhat less savoury and you have to fight to get your fill... sated after one, gosh life at times can be so hard.
& kg, I'm usually accused of dozing & mumbling a few words, so you're doing a bit better than me ... & if reports are correct, the few words are thankfully incoherent.

  7. Glad to hear I'm not alone, Mojo. It's prferable to being hyperactive and babbling, is my defence.

  8. & Lucyna, "Truths have been replaced by lies and the lies have been hoisted onto petards and adored... "Mr Well-Hung" - what truth do they speak of?
... well, at a certain age, and if one were to be wearing the t-shirt of a ten year old, overhang would truly reflect that which was over the belt rather than that which was under it ... excess without cost, aye there's the rub.
    Incoherent ramblings kg.

  9. Cheers dudes from the Southern Trenches of Good Conscience Truth Platoon.

Throw down your guns fembot gummint and don't be so reckless !

  10. G'day D4J. Trying to decide whether to eat or not here.
    Nah. Food makes me sleepier.

  11. It's too hot to do anything more than laze. The week has been extra long, on account of the limited sleep.

With barely enough mental capacity to boot my computer, I found myself having a quick scout around the blogs...and nearly got dragged in to a potentially long and circular conversation with Policy Parrot on how Hitler is or isn't in any way a socialist.

I hate those conversations. They are almost pointless, except for the fact that neat little definitions don't always explain the big wide world (and the warped brain of Mr H.)

You know its going to be painful when one resorts to words like 'sublation'. I don't know what came over me.

    M.u.s.t s.t.a.y a.w.a.y ...

  12. Zen's three step plan to get to midnight:

    1. Beer
    2. DVD - Die Hard 4.0
    3. Chillax.

  13. Hi KG with all the crap going down with heinous senseless violence, murder, murder, beatings , smack police etc....bent judges and pollies etc...etc... and all that shit and this morning I pick up my local newspaper and on the front page in big bold print is "Schools should allow children to change gender ." What the fuck has happened to this country ?

Yes a cold one is in order Zen .

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sounds like a paln...but no beer for me. Work is a little humourless about drinking on the job.
D4J, it'd take at least three chapters to answer that question. How a great little country can come unravelled on so many fronts, so quickly is frightening. But it's not over yet--Kiwis have bucketloads of commonsense and talent and I reckon the pendulum will swing back before long.
Now, a shower and off to have some fun. :-)
    Go well.

  15. I on the other hand have taken the drink lots of beer method to stay cool. I have just got out of the pool to try and ease the WORST HEADACHE IN THE WORLD DUE TO THE BEER COOOLING METHOD, WHICH STILL DOES NOT WORK.
Zen attempting to engage the cretins at the axis of stupid is a circular descent into madness. You will not convince them of anything and they will simply hurl abuse at you.
Now watching Green Wing through squeezed eyelids contemplating whether to have a johnnie walker for the head ache. Lady Barnsley is having a girls weekend in Auckland (a prayer for the amex please) and I need somebody to hold an ice pack on my neck.

  16. Dehydration=headache BB. And beer won't prevent it. (something to do with not enough electrolytes or something)
Unless you drink enough water (ugh!) to pee at least every half-hour, you're not drinking enough. Signed: Fake GP.

  17. I know the cause of dehydration KG, however after spending all day out in the stinking hot sun sat on a tractor I slipped over and accidentally ingested eleventy seven beers. need another swim , have just witnessed Dr Statham giving himself a coffee enema.
    The twat used hot coffee.

  18. Evening all, I find air con a better method of cooling down then beer, comes without headaches Bill.

Was engaging the axis of stupid today when we were talking about John Keys soft public image, which I said was the main reason National had shot up in the polls. Tane responded by saying: "you've just proven the point that the left has been argueing all along"

What this shows is that Tane an entirely partisan blogger who does not seem to be able to say anything outside of Labour party talking points. Further more it shows that he thinks we are all just as partisan as him, and sees it as a victory that I have admitted John Key has soften the National party image, not just a statement of opinion by an individual with a brain.

  19. Good morning from Yorkshire everyone.
I have just got up and am watching a tv programme called Wanted Down Under , which today concerns a Uk family emigrating to New Zealand.
It is mild and cloudy and due to rain later.
My parent's fishpond is overflowing and I expect the goldfish will be on the lawn soon if the rain continues.
I'm not struggling to keep warm, as Adolf believes.
Rather, I am wilting under the heat from mum and dad's old fashioned Aga cooker.
I'll be back in 3-4 weks and ready for some warm sun. It's about 11c outside and maybe 30c inside.

  20. Nick the problem is that none of them appear to have any life experience. They have grown up within a doctrine that has followed them through school and for those old enough.. Into govt service jobs.
Numptys who do not know shit from clay. If (and it is a big if) National get in there will need to be a massive clean out of every govt dept to remove the partisan public employees. Who has any confidence in the impartiality of our public service when mark prebble keeps following H2's script.

Swim helped...... Time for a scotch

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yes well I suppose Labour and the public service get along well together. On the one hand Labour does nothing to crack down on or even streamline the self serving and ineffective beuracracy, which gets us such results as the $250,000 toilet and a $60,000 report into 'the social effects of global warming' by the ministry of Social development. On the other hand Labour gets the assurance that the public service will give the Yes Minister treatment and attempt to re-elect the government. Labour claim that people on the unemployment benefit is at all time lows, but what is a Wellington public service job but a defacto unemployment benefit?

  22. Evening all, a blistering day in the high country. Just settle down to fnffa and I hear 4 rifle shots. Some uninvited guests having a bomb up on the deer no doubt. What part of deer farm don't they understand?

Will get a dog and go see.

  24. Gee, you wouldn't want to piss off that John McLean guy....he and Jack Bauer need to team up.

I suppose everyone's read the 100 "Jack Bauer is so tough":

    * There are three leading causes of death among terrorists. They are all Jack Bauer.
    * When Jack Bauer was a child, he made his mother finish his vegetables.
    * The city of Los Angeles once named a street after Jack Bauer in gratitude for his saving the city several times. They had to rename it after people kept dying when they tried to cross the street. No one crosses Jack Bauer and lives.
    * Jack Bauer sleeps with a pillow under his gun.
    * If everyone on 24 followed Jack Bauer's instructions, it would be called 12.

Chuck Norris had his own top 100 too...

    ...Back to the movie.
