Friday Night Free For All

I can see the headlines now:

"Brothel successfully sues neighbour for loss of business"

Yes, with brothels now "legally respectable", they have moved out of the red light districts and set up shop in the suburbs. This leads to problems. Many clients can knock on the wrong door in the middle of the night waking the neighbours.

Should an 80 year old granny answer the door, teeth out for the night, winter-warm cloth nightgown and fluffy pink slippers, the clients might make false assumptions, and flee screaming into the night. This could generate a downturn in revenue for the brothel and they would have to take legal action to ensure their neighbours are "the right sort". After all, the economy is at stake.

On the other hand, perhaps they should set up shop next door to the Directors of one of those failed finance companies that have ripped off millions. There's a common theme there somewhere.

And whilst we muse on that, evening all. How was the week? Weak? Or showing signs of sunshine? Winter is officially upon us, we can expect it to be cold, but it doesn't always have to be rainy.

  1. Definitely winter temperatures in North Otago but the sun shone too.

  4. hi all;
I'm glad its mild where you are BB - I am freezing.

There was ice on the inside of my windsheild yesterday AM

    Sigh

  6. Evening all.

Mojo - the fluffy pink slippers I think adds much to the line. Reminds of the world's worst writer awards though, so I'll say less.

We can stick to the weather - ice on the inside of the car window sounds harsh. Unless the car is a convertible.

  7. Hehe ... sometimes Zen, 'less is more.'

  8. Glorious warm sunshine here with hardly a cloud in the sky, but it got a bit nippy towards the late afternoon.
It was cold on the South Island.
    Mainlanders must be hardy souls.

  10. I needed a lightweight jacket heading out tonight but I can't call it cold. Auckland does not know what cold is.

  11. Hi Madeleine,

Auckland must be much like Sydney in that respect. When I lived in Oz, I bought this great wool coat, which I could never wear, even on the coldest days, unless I wore very little beneath it. While as here in Wellington, I can still feel chilled while wearing it with multiple layers.

  12. Yes it is lie that Lucia. In Dunedin at its worst you could not overdress, no matter how many layers. Here there is a definite limit.

  13. Amazingly enough, it's currently colder just north of Wgtn than it is in Dunedin. Masterton is beating Paraparam by .1 of a degree for chill. We're both plummeting down to 1 degree.

I've got my electric blanket on, and I don't have to go anywhere tonight, so I'm good.
