Friday Night Free For All

My blogger profile is pretty simple:

Does it really matter who I am? Who are you? You only live for a finite number of days. What are you exchanging for a day of life today?

And therefore Fletcher's last post resonates with me. My iPhone too has stolen many spare moments on buses, or at the airport or in between appointments, and I've had to consciously wind it back. Even more important things vie for my time at the moment, and it's a challenge to figure out how to live up to work commitments, find time for family and find extra time for others who need it right now. So not as much blogging lately. Haven't even had time to watch a football match, and find out the scores hours or days later. Hopefully, I'll catch some action later next week.

Time. Does it even exist? I thought I saw a headline the other day suggesting it might not. Haven't had time to investigate that claim. How about you? Any time challenges in your life? Any time management hints?

Oh, and Russel Norman protesting well beyond the allowed protest zone? He hasn't learned the rules. It's not just about abusing credit cards...or do I have this wrong? On one hand, we have a peaceful "citizen" protesting and then getting assaulted. On the other, was there a cleared area where protesters had to be behind, and did Russel Norman have all appearances of looking like a mad protester in the danger zone? Was he provocative? Does anyone have the facts - I can only see a Green press statement, and they are not always willing to print the other side of the story.

Sorry, but I am having trouble seeing your point.

I know we have outsourced almost every job in NZ, but when did we hand over law enforcement to Chinese goons?

  3. Monsieur Fugley, what a surprise to see you here. I wondered if I might get a reaction from that statement.

I was at a protest march once, and was peacefully protesting. However, there were goons that were heckling the crowd, swearing and acting in a threatening manner. They also said they were merely exercising their right to protest against us protesters. Except they were just acting like crude, ignorant, unpleasant gits, and describing them as "protesters" was far too kind.

I haven't heard the full story of what happened, but I heard that it was NZ Police also involved in keeping Russel back.

On the face of it, it looks like Russel was hard done by, and the Chinese acted out of hand. I'd be interested in eye witness reports to see if there were mitigating circumstances though. Sometimes, it turns out the facts change the perception.

  4. Evening Ciaron. Study well. I'm working on a presentation for next week. Have too many work things happening, and have to work when I can to be a good scout.

Probably at the same time as we outsourced parliamentary seats to unelected ginga Aussies.

Clearly this was green "look at me" strategy, push your luck. Embarass the country in front of the new superpower for a Herald front page. What an irrelevant pigeon chested non-entity. The new poster child for a return to FPP.

    Breathe out Barnsley.

Good evening kind hosts and guests. It is very cold in Keri keri tonight. I went to the pub with long pants on. Bangers and mash at the Pioneer tavern was great, the shrimp cocktail starter was not. Typical for me, I saw a very attractive young lady exhibiting lewd pleasure whilst eating hers and just had to have one too.
If anybody can instruct me on how to start making decisions based on logic, reason and decency rather than being enslaved to my dodgy libido I would really appreciate it.

  6. Thanks Ciaron :-)

The Russell thing is kinda funny. The video footage sure does look rather suss and not hugely compatible with the green party press release.

As for your ponderings on time and how much web and electronic communication devices suck off us I have to agree - though I did see a funny slogan on Facebook today "I think, therefore I blog."

  7. Evening BB. I think I'm in agreement over the Russel affair. I've now looked at the video. Storm in a teacup, but I suspect it will be milked for more than it's worth.

As for good, sound decision making - ordering a shrimp cocktail seems like a logical, decent and reasonable thing to do!

  8. Congrats Madeline!

    How about:

    I think, therefore I am.
    I think.

  9. Hi BB, the only thing that works to restrain me in my areas of weakness is to go to confession & Holy Communion.

  11. BB,

Have you been reading "The Great Divorce" by CS Lewis? If so, you'll know the pain is worth it and you do survive, bigger and better than before.
