Our favourite communist, Chris Trotter, is rabbiting on today in the Dominion Post how the Gallipoli massacre would have been impossible given our much advanced telecommunications that would most likely have been beaming the defeat all around the world as it happened.
He's probably right. The only massacres that will occur are those that people don't care about, such as Rawanda.
I can't bring myself to spend the time typing it all out, so if you all want to read him, buy the Dominion Post today.

I would hope is right, I would also hope that there will never be another Gallipoli because we can learn from the past, that "Lest We Forget" are not simply platitudes mouthed twice a year.
ReplyDeleteAs to Rwanda, I agree lucyna, and wonder just what you are doing about it?
D Day also would have been impossible if surrender monkeys like Trottsky had had their way.
ReplyDeleteThe Nazi's would still be there with Hitler still battling on and this commie scum would be defending him and telling us how happy the Jews are living in Madagascar.
Its not the soldiers that Trottsky cares about, socialists are known for their fear and hated of people who put the good of the group above the wants of the individual. It's that the West might not been seen as the ultimate evil that causes these leftist revisionist to second guess every military decision made since Noah first piped for all special sea dutymen to close up for exiting harbor.
The only thing a Trotter article would be good for is lining the cat's litter tray.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be nice if it were true!
ReplyDeleteJust becasue you can pxt a tank crossing the border doesn't mean it still isn't going to mow you down or that anyone will act against it!
Comprehensive media coverage requires that it is broadcast, that it is watched. Surely it is easy to take down teleco coverage and "re-invade Poland".
I seem to recall fairly good coverage of the Balkan War.
I think this idea derives from the false feeling of power gained by mastery of modern media. At the end of the day all modern media does is create more useless fodder, it doesn't make you more compassionate, discerning, or a better resistance fighter!
The only thing Trotter is good for is lining a cat's litter box!
