Voting to end War

No Right Turn has a post up on Voting to end WWIII. Which made me wonder, if we happened to go backwards in time - would people like him be clamouring for a vote to end WW2? Demanding that we surrender to the Germans and the Japanese, because, war is just not worth all the loss in lives? Somehow, I think they would. Because they seem to believe that voting is the civilised way to do something, no matter how few people agree with it (Repeal of S59) and that plain old force is just wrong.

  1. I think you misunderstood - it's about the US Congress voting on whether to end the Iraq War, and it's the third post he's written on the subject.

I must say I like your interpretation though - imagine if Fraser had said "Hands up everyone who wants to declare war on Germany" - might have been a pretty thin showing...

  2. Don't worry, Psycho, I understood him.

Maybe there would have been a thin showing over here, maybe not. Certainly in Britain at the time, the details of Germany's attack on Poland were kept secret so as to not inflame the public.

You've got the wrong PM, Fraser only came onboard on April 1, 1940.

  3. Actually its World War IV.

World War III was the war against communism won by

    Ronald Reagan
    Margaret Thatcher
    Pope John Paul II

And withdrawing from Iraq will not end it.

Rather it will give the enemy heart and as Iraq distintigrates and is partitioned by Syria and Iran the major battle grounds will shift to Israel and Turkey and most probably Europe.

  4. Ah the dimocrats are going to vote for Iran to stop feeding terrorists into Iraq to murder Iraqi civilians ... excellent... oh wait the tide seems to be not giving a crap and is coming on in anyway.

Another two stage plan from the socialist mental elite.
    Stage 1. Cut
    Stage 2. Run
