Wax Eyes

Wax Eyes, by Julian Knap, 2004
Oil on canvas: 0.73m x 0.97m.
Wax eyes, silvereyes, white-eyes, Tauhou (the little stranger). It’s all the same bird. They became established in New Zealand after an influx from Australia in 1856. Every year a pair comes to drink the nectar from the flowers of our back yard tree.

The depth effect in this painting is like in photography where the background is out of focus. Julian
Julian is a Wellington based artist and a friend of mine. He has quite a range in his portfolio, and unfortunately, the image quality I currently have do not do the paintings justice. I'll dig up his flickr site in due course. The Tiger avatar image I use is part of a Julian Knap painting.

Enjoy, and do feel free to post anything positive. You may inspire him!
