Socialists on Power Trip

Here we go again. Clark is trying to regain her popularity. So what do the Socilaists come up with? Electricity is essential goes the thinking. So we should rebate it for the poor and the rich should pay extra.

Hang on, isn't that the whole purpose of the graduated tax system? Instead, lets fiddle with yet more 'targeted' schemes.

The 'target' of course is winning the election. After all, power is everything.

When the Labour government figures that food is also essential, maybe we'll have a "Working for Food" rebate. I'm guessing these will become policy before the next election to enable the various government departments to launch a 15 million dollar TV advertising campaign to promote Labour's policies. Even as they move to shut down a one page brochure by the Exclusive Brethren, or any other non-Labour group that may have a different opinion to express.

  1. It will be interesting to see how high the cut off limits for claiming this WFF assistance will be.

At the moment, WFF is nuts. They let a family with four children earn up to $108K, saying thats necessary. But they also tax you at 39c after $60K, claiming you to be in the high earning bracket! Complete stupidity!

This country is getting close to being royally debt ridden and state funded; in fact, I wouldn't be surprised, if God forbid, Helen got back in next year, she introduces death taxes.

  2. God forbid the government intelligently encourage the productive components of the economy. A government who's flagship research fund - Marsden - rejects 93% of applicants is not interested in research supporting radical economic advances.

What happens to New Zealand's economic growth when all dairy-convertible land is?

  3. Its just another illustration of how socialism really works.

They take a working mans money from him by way of tax and return part of it, via a created bureaucracy, thus giving the impression of being generous.

The scary thing is most people are fooled by this governmental sleight of hand.

I agree - the idea that people on $100K need welfare is just bizarre, it's nothing more than trying to buy middle class votes using their own money. Of course, the right's view that the progressive tax regime is no more desirable than the welfare is just as contemptible.

  6. Of course, the right's view that the progressive tax regime is no more desirable than the welfare is just as contemptible.

I just don't get that reasoning at all. Progressive tax means that the more money you make, the larger the governments share of your efforts. Without any understanding of why or how you are making more money. What if you have lost heaps of money and are working two jobs to pay off your debts? The moral decision the government makes that the person who makes more can afford to give more can be blown apart so easily. So, progressive tax just comes down to the bulk of people deciding that people that make more than them ought to pay more tax, just because ... I'm not sure what the reasoning is apart from class envy, quite frankly.

So, I would like to know why you think what you do, PM.

  7. Yeah work two jobs to get ahead and feed your family and the
Government socks you with secondary tax.

For some reason Milt thinks it is the governments duty to sock it to people who work hard.

Its that old class envy thing plus the need for socialism to keep as many people as as possible poor.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I should add Milt that when a working people get WFF they are only getting some of their own money back.

Its not like the government is actually giving them anything that wasn't theirs to start with.

  9. If Klark puts this odious legislation in place, will Key repeal it if Labour lose the election and why aren't the media asking him that question?

  10. "Its that old class envy thing..."
Excuse me? I'm paying that 39% top rate - where does the class envy come in?

"...plus the need for socialism to keep as many people as as possible poor."
Ditto. If the socialist progressive tax rate's meant to be keeping me poor, it's doing a crap job.

"...when a working people get WFF they are only getting some of their own money back."
I did say it amounted to bribing them with their own money, but I was falling for right-wing propaganda. In fact, it's not their money, it's society's money. If you don't like having to commit income to your society, or what it does with that money, vote for a govt more to your taste. But don't start talking about theft if it turns out the majority don't share your view. Democracy's like that.

Progressive tax regimes simply recognise that someone like me's in a better position to contribute than a lot of other people. Makes perfect sense to me, in fact they should make it even more progressive by wiping tax obligations from the first $15000 earned. It's not perfect, but society-wide laws never are.

  11. What secondary tax, it is all just part of the same progressive tax take. As PM says if you earn more you can afford to contribute more.

"What if you have lost heaps of money and are working two jobs to pay off your debts? "

Well I guess you should lay off the pokies. You losing money is not the fault of society at large. Remember personal responsibility.

  12. It's always class politics with these socialists, they are losers themselves so they envy those who work hard and make some extra money.

The poor might think that it's ok, because those rich bastards are paying for it, but who's going to pay for it when the rich are gone or are poor now.

Kiwis need to wake up to these parasites, we all need to, if we don't, they'll make everyone poor to achieve their goals of equality and whatever other nonsense they are pushing.

  13. As I said on this topic over at CR (hi KG)...
What a witch that woman is! She's right on target with militant Marxist agenda; pauperize, disempower and emasculate the dynamic middle class money generators and raise up the welfare leeches in order to have a completely powerless and subservient public; putty in your hands.

I might agree with you if the tax laws were consistent with WFF and the 39c didn't kick in until $108K with four children.

That was my point, but I didn't say it proper.

Whats gonna change ? other than certain people rushing around the world on holidays in jets useing heaps of oil , or buying fancy cars , a extra house or a whole lot of crap they dont really need !!might not afford to do so hmmmm ?? .
Do you suggest the poor will miss out on anything my friend because im sure they will still have plenty of under paid jobs left to do . Where they will work for the RIGHTeous the rich ! many who hide under the false banner of Christianity with their i deserve more holier than thou attitude . Because i ! command a lot of slaves , oh woe is me my God (money) has forsaken me .What right do these lowly people who toil have to seek for a little bit more?.
When will people learn that these things happen for a good reason . And if they want their RIGHTeous government then they could have it and keep it, if only they treated people (right) .
But of course slavery never ended it just got hidden behind a name known as the upper class .
Winge and weep ! but it will do no good , 1.3 million should be spent on teaching the lowly that they can change things by voting ! and they do have a chance .
And then one day idiots will realise the benefits with less people in jails @ $100,000`s per year! less crime and loss of property overall .Safer communitys etc etc , not unlike some other countrys on this planet where these statistics prove this point !.
But of course first of all we must listen to the RIGHTeous blindly weeping making lots of noise like spoilt children having lost their lollypop throwing all their dollys out of the pram .

And i agree but i suggest the tourist industry is one thing New Zealand should be pushing for .And all the more reason to do everything we can to cut down on crime and poverty , but lets face it and learn from the past and countrys that are doing well building more jails and being tight is not the answer .
And it has been proven by the films being produced lately as long as we look after the country we have a good future in this as well .We have loads of smart inventors who to often take their inventions overseas this needs to stop.
Of course we could cut down every tree and milk how ever many more cows , but what effect will that have on industrys such as tourism , film production etc ? .What happens if some other countrys decide to get into the milk market in a big way who will buy our pile of butter havent we been there done that before ?? .

We dont want all our eggs in one basket do we ?.

But with a blog title such as this : Virtue, morality, and religion. This is the armor, my friend, and this alone that renders us invincible. These are the tactics we should study. If we lose these, we are conquered. -- Patrick Henry

I have to say im disgusted with some of the posts ! and all i feel is pity really .You might as well forget the virtue and morality because the religion is money and im not surprised you feel sorry for the Exclusive Brethren .

Think about your children people ! after you leave they and their kids need to try and carry on !! .
