I've just finished reading Odd Thomas. It's kept me up the last few nights, being of an unputdownable quality. It's only with force of will that I managed to wrench myself out of it every night until today, to put myself out of my misery, I spent all afternoon finishing it off.
And now, I have started reading the next book, Forever Odd, which quite possibly means a very late night for me ...

I'll kick off tonite I guess.
ReplyDeleteI've been really sick all week, not good at all.
Have you ever checked out Red Alert - I reckon Trev love him or loath him does a really good job of it - especially keeping the comments on track and reasonable.
On the other hand the Standards at The Standard .......
LM - who wrote those books?
ReplyDeleteAndrei, I hope you're on the mend.
HP,
ReplyDeleteDean Koontz. I accidentally read one of his books when watching my youngest practice soccer and I had nothing to do except have a flick through an overdue library book my hubby wanted me to return. Suffice to say, that after 20 minutes of reading, I was completely hooked and the library book was returned several days later.
I haven't read a lot of fiction over the last number of years as my tastes have changed dramatically. So, it's nice being able to read for pleasure again.
Andrei,
Being sick is not good. Hope you get better soon.
Not heard of Red Alert and I stay away from The Standard.
Evening all. Trust everyone is well. I hate being sick as well. Being male though it is usually the dreaded 'man flu' I get which is 10 times worse then anything a woman can get.
ReplyDeleteAndrei did you get any sympathy?? Got to milk your sickness for all it is worth.
" the dreaded 'man flu' I get which is 10 times worse then anything a woman can get. "
ReplyDeleteThis explains the origin of the word patients because you need lots of patience to look after them :)
Andrei did you get any sympathy??
ReplyDeleteI'm a male Ozy - whaddya reckon?
Got to carry on as usual, as usual - neither sleet nor snow, rail or hail and so forth .....
My boy Nik tells me some of his school fellows were amongst the undie 500 arrestees. Apparently a text message went out that it was all on and these foolish fellows went down to see the fun and a couple decided to participate and ended up in the cells for the night.
You'll be gratified to know that Nik considers them to be prats of the first order.
Anyway the whole school got an ear bashing about it at assembly earlier this week.
Boy I do I remember those with affection
"Some boys from this school have insert heinous crime here ..........
Evening All.

Hi Fletch, hope you are finding stuff to do (and food to eat) whilst you sort out a job.
ReplyDeleteHave you considered temp jobs, or are you in no hurry to find the right one?
Howdy all. Just in from the Forum on the Family - its been a long day, well really it began at last nights Bloggers drinks... David Farrar is such a celebrity, you should have seen how packed the bloggers drinks were and who turned up!
ReplyDeleteNo hidden cameras recording all?
ReplyDeleteSo how was the Family Forum, or are you busily doing a post about it all?
I hope no cameras!
ReplyDeleteThe Forum was good. We will do a post on it but not tonight. Too shattered!
I took 7 pages of notes, Matt took about 5 and we have to put them together, work out what was key - we are not a newspaper so we won't be a doing a blow by blow report.
Andy Moore is due at our place soon so we'll enjoy his company, have a wine and relax before blogging!
Whatever he tells you about me, it isn't true. Those people were like that already.
ReplyDeleteHe still is not back from the Auckland launch of Pro-Life NZ yet but now you have me intrigued... I will have to grill him.
ReplyDeleteEvening from Fanganui!
ReplyDeleteAll this fuss over the heigth letter of the alfabet... don't see the point to be honest!
Looking forward to hearing about the whorum Mads.
Say "Hi" to Andy.
