New Guinea comes to New Plymouth

Is that a silver bogie?

Ladies and Gentlemen, if you look to your left you will see a fine example of New Zealand femininity on display. Lovely aint she?

Apparently this look is now acceptable at New Plymouth Girls' High School.

Well there's an advance in civilization for you, our adoption and acceptance of the bodily mutilations common amongst New Guinea tribesman savages.

I originally wrote some very harsh things here but the silly little girl in the picture is just that - a silly little girl and we were all young and foolish once.

Of course in those days we had adults to help steer us in the right direction, parents, school teachers, priests and so forth. Something that is clearly lacking in these enlightened times.

  1. Is it any suprise that if you spend 5 years at High School teaching a kid they're animals they start acting like it?

  2. The money spent on the hardware would have been better spent on skincare products, which will actually help with the looks...

  3. Without casting aspersions on the girl, (she maybe quite a nice person) if she thinks the piercings enhance her natural beauty, she'd be sadly mistaken...

  4. Meh - jewellery is where you put it. I had to stand up and announce to my staff a week back "I know this isn't something you generally hear from your male colleagues, but I've lost an earring."
