A blogsite called "Polar Bear Science" produced documented evidence that such events as described in the above scare mongering have been common for hundreds of years. [ Not a new thing ] Either way, so what do these people think the appropriate response to reverse the change of climate? Many blogs have covered the story that some scientists were caught in summer ice down in the Antarctic. They've been stuck since Christmas. Two rescue vessels (both icebreakers) have failed to reach them so now they are resorting to a helicopter lift out, happening around now. The weather is getting worse though, not better, so it would be very foolish to continue. It does seem like the reality is sinking in: The long-awaited rescue came after days of failed attempts to get the passengers off the Russian ship MV Akademik Shokalskiy, which got stuck on Christmas Eve. Blinding snow, strong winds, fog and thick sea ice forced rescuers to turn back time and again. The scientific team on board had been recreating Australian explorer Douglas Mawson's 1911 to 1913 voyage to Antarctica. It's been suggested by the warmists that AGW Scientists are not the sort that make ridiculous statements without having the full force of scientific consensus to fall back on. This list of newspaper articles shows many stories on AGW are laced with thick doses of hype, made by politicians and experts alike in their crusade to justify global taxation schemes. Meanwhile, an ice breaker is caught in the ice during the summer months down in the Antarctic. The larger ice breaker sent to free it has had to turn back. Maybe the science isn't settled after all? Some people spend hours arguing tree rings, ice core samples and moving weather stations as if that will prove AGW. Don't worry about it. Think of it as misdirection. Whilst you are reading a science journal, bureaucrats are figuring out new ways to take control of our lives by politicising the idea of Climate Change to ensure uncontested implementation of whatever policies take their fancy. Climate Science 101 is very simple. Don't look at the problem, don't even look at the political justifications to solve the problem, instead focus very hard on what the policy implementation is going to be. Warming a swimming pool with the heat from a crematorium - have these people no sense of decorum or no memory of historical horrors? Sir George Young, leader of the House of Commons, said the proposal to warm a Worcestershire leisure centre with heat from a nearby crematorium was a “groundbreaking scheme”. He said the Government is considering whether the plan could be duplicated elsewhere in Britain. “The Government is aware of this particular scheme,” he said. “The Department for Energy and Climate Change will shortly be publishing its heat strategy and this will explore the potential for better recovery and reuse of wasted heat in schemes such as this one.” He added that he would “die a happier man” if he knew heat from his cremation was warming the waters of a local pool. Just before 5pm today, while I was sitting at the computer writing one of the few posts appearing on this blog today, and trying to maintain a comfortable environment on my lap for the cat, it hailed outside. It's summer time here in New Zealand! Isn't it? Where did this hail come from? Any thing more like this could wreck my tomatoes, of which only one has ripened so far. Normally I have heaps of tomatoes by Christmas, but not this season.

My friends the "rise sea in level" over the past 100 years is so small that it is virtually undetectable given the techniques used to quantify it that are available. And yet Pacific Islands Forum leaders have called for the urgent provision of international funds to help small countries at risk from climate change , saying the issue was the "single greatest threat to the livelihoods, security and well-being of the peoples of the Pacific". If the freakin sea level rise is " single greatest threat to the livelihoods, security and well-being of the peoples of the Pacific" then I'd say the peoples of the Pacific aint got that much to worry about.

You may know that New Zealand's climate "scientists" are refusing to debate Lord Monckton on the matter. Here is what one has to say as to his reasons Climate scientist and Victoria University professor Martin Manning said the scientific community had decided not to engage with him because that would mislead the public. The science was done and there was no debate to be had, he said. This is what I would say to Professor Manning: " The science is never done Charlie Horse. Science only progresses because people challenge the prevailing wisdom and in the process expand our knowledge of how the world works.
