Andrei The fun police strike again

The Mission concert has lost its BYO licence.

Police have won a three-year battle to stop people taking their own alcohol to the annual Mission Estate Winery Concert in Hawke's Bay, saying it led to excessive drinking.
My goodness, how many people get really plastered at these events? Not very many in all likelihood.

But just in case someone might the vast majority who just want an enjoyable day out will be penalized.

Wowserism is alive and kicking in 21st century New Zealand.

Wow - I always thought it was blimmin impressive the Estate allowed people to bring their own when they supply some mighty fine alcohol.

With our alcohol limit being so high I would be surprised if this really creates a legal issue.

How is it different from a concert being held in a BYO restaurant where people bring their own?
