Friday night free for all UPDATED

It's a bit of a late one tonight. I have my reasons!

If anyone feels like a chat, drop by!

UPDATE: I've just watched the below You-Tube clip on the disguises of sin. Freaky. Thanks Muerk! From her link: Satan has many disguises.

No more second glass of wine for me tonight.

  1. Good evening Lucia Maria.Hope everything is well with you there.
Lots of rain and wind here.

  2. Hi KG,

We are all well. Just busy. It's been one of those weeks, not wait, fortnights.

And our little cat got sick a couple of days ago. Really high temperature (off the scale at the vet's), but one of those slow release antibiotic shots did the trick for her.

  3. I hope she stays well. Sick pets are a worry and it's frustrating, not being able to explain why you have to do things like stick needles in them!
I got sent home from work last night with the 'flu so today hasn't been a whole lot of fun. Should be fixed by Monday though.

  4. That's not good, KG. Hope it is a quick recovery. I may have had the flu last week, but wasn't sure because of the migraine symptoms. It wasn't too bad, maybe it's all the vitamins I've been taking.

I don't like having sick pets. Their sleep patterns are all stuffed up and you don't know if they're going to need to go to the toilet at odd times when they shouldn't be out. And this cat cannot be given kitty litter. She sprays it everywhere, and then treats the litter tray as a bed. Far better to make her go outside.

  5. It's not likely to be fatal, Lucia Maria--I think the doc over-reacted a little. :) (holding up a sign in a very busy E.D. saying "go home!")

I've never heard of a cat using the litter tray as a bed. lol!

  6. I'm glad you enjoyed the link. The goddess 'rosary' people were deeply disturbing eh?

  7. Well, as a protestant, if you take the weird that is the catholic church, then double that you get that church.

Actually, it's more like triple with a double twist. Those guys are weird.

  8. Muerk,

    Yes definitely disturbing.

    Scrubone,

They are more a parody of the Catholic Church.

Even when I was a new agey type, I would never have believed what they do. When I left the Church, I left it. I didn't stay behind to wreck havoc with people's belief.

  9. What I find weird is that it's a Lutheran church. Martin Luther must be spinning in his grave to see that kind of church under his name.

  10. LM - Yeah, I was Wiccan before I was Catholic and even then I would have found that group odd. I mean the Bible is pretty obvious in the kind of behavior it expects. Worshiping a goddess who is supposedly God and blatent lesbianism is definitely unbiblical and I could have told you that as a new age pagan.

  11. Muerk, I didn't realise it was Lutheran. It could have easily been Catholic, what with the perverted rosary. I didn't read the site as I have an aversion to anything like that.

Wiccan, huh? I had a few Wiccan books that I threw in the trash (along with alot of other stuff) a few years ago. I didn't want to give the books away as I didn't want to be responsible even in some small part in corrupting others.

  12. I just read Russell Kirk's definition of conservatism - gosh, what a revelation. I am a conservative. I was never sure how I should politically define myself because I'm not what I would regard as right wing, nor would I regard myself to fit into the left wing criteria either. But reading Kirk's "Ten Conservative Principles" I can honestly say I agree with all that.

  13. Cool, Muerk!

I was really pleased when I found those - they articulated really well what I instinctively hoped conservatism really was.

  14. Hi all. Is blowing a gale here in Auckland. Forecast says it's supposed to be like this all weekend...

  15. LM - I got rid of my new age stuff too. I had some very beautiful (and expensive) tarot cards that got thrown away because it would have been wrong to pass them on. I also got rid of some of my music that was morally wrong.

It was hard to throw them away, but I felt much better afterwards. That kind of religious expression can be very seductive, but it opens doors to spiritually unpleasant things.
