  1. Ah, there is something warm and fuzzy, and even a little naughty about a 'free for all.'
    Finally.
    Evening Lucia.

  2. LOL, Mojo!
    Glad to have you here.

We've been a bit late lately with them as things have been quite busy. But then again, around this time is a more civilised starting point. :)

  3. Ciaron,

Oh no! You're not run down at your age, are you?

You should start taking vitamins. They do help. My recommendation is this one: Solgar VM 2000 Multi Nutrient Tablets.

  4. Oh and eat an apple and a carrot a day.

  5. Yep .. & civilised is good.
I went to school today ... interesting. Saw a teacher/child net ball game, good to see that some of those older fogeys are still pretty competitive ... and that those acceleration injuries still seem to befall the most competitive of them - alas, game stopped for ambulance ... teachers still won.
    Something proper about it really.

  8. Not sounding good at all, Ciaron.

My son was sick earlier this week. Sore throat and then ferociously running nose followed by nausea. I have an arsenal now for illness that I've gathered over the years through trial and error.

So on Wednesday he didn't go to swimming because of this illness, but today he did go after I dosed him up on Vit C (chewable 500mg Bio C from Blackmores, 10 per day) and Harker's Euthorol and Emphysemol, both of which are currently not available as the company went bankrupt. But apparently the products will be relaunched in a few months.

  9. I hate being sick, either wait it out and feel lousy for a week+, or shell out a large wad of cash, and feel better in 3-4 days.

    decisions, decisions.

  10. When I was your age, Vit C + garlic helped me enormously without anything else. You could probably get a small bottle of Bio C in the 1000mg strength from the supermarket for less than $20 and a bottle of garlic oil capsules for for $10 to $12. And then just take 1 or 2 Vit C + 3 or so garlic capsules every couple of hours, and that should probably do the trick.

  12. I had a freaky incident this week. I was driving along the highway taking my youngest child to gymnastics earlier this week, travelling at about 80K in an 80K zone, when this car with a trailer behind it crossed in front of me to turn down a side road. I had to slam on my brakes and reduce my speed to 50K in a hurry in order to not hit the damn car. Afterwards, I thought, I should have tooted. Normally I'm too busy avoiding an accident to think of tooting until it's too late.

  13. You probably need spirulina as well, Ciaron. But save all that for when you are better.

  14. I was feeling flu-ish for a couple weeks. Took the vitamin C. My folks gave me some of those Kyolic Garlic capsules as well, but wow, it costs $70 a bottle.

  15. Fletch, I've never found any added benefit from expensive garlic. The cheap oil capsule garlic works pretty well.

  16. I notice the Super City rates are starting to kick in. My mother who lives in Franklin was horrified that on her latest rates bill she was paying for MOTAT and other Auckland stuff.
