Palin Derangement Syndrome

Blogger Scott Hong has catalogued over 400 instances of overt media bias against Sarah Palin. It doesn't surprise me. Even so, it's way behind the 8-ball. It was written in 2008. Update: Nope, my sights were off as Scott Hong has been updating that post, so it's over 400 and growing... Palin Derangement Syndrome.

Comments

  1. When I met Mrs. Palin at her book signing, an elderly fellow also shook my hand. When he saw I confusion he explained; "We're Sarahs' parents".

Trying to be a southern gentlman I wanted to say something encouraging. I replied: "Here's why we love your daughter so much; for years politicians have looked on people like you and me, people that get up and go to work everyday to provide for our families. The politicians see us as idiots and are willing to use us as a means to achieve their personal goals. Your daughter represents who we are. She says "we aren't idiots, we aren't your slaves: and we aren't going to be treated as such any longer."

At that point, Mrs. Palins mother stood up, looked me in the eye and said "thank you for that." I was pleased to reply: "Thank you for raising such a wonderful daughter".

Hopfully, I was able to provide a bright spot in their gruelling tour.

  2. Allow me to introduce my work:

Americans want politicians to stop looking at them as a resource to further their careers, their financial gain; and do what the Constitution says they should do: represent them. They want lower taxes, they want the free market to thrive and supply jobs and goods, and they want the money they pay into the system to be stretched like they stretch their personal income. We are seeing this expectation all over the country. Both in the national arena, and the local. In fact, they not only WANT this paradigm shift: they DEMAND it.

  3. Danyl, please wipe your arse before you visit other people's places.

  4. Danyl, he may or may not be American (and thus eligible to apply for the role of POTUS), but there are some things he for sure IS:

    (1) the worst US president since Jimmy Carter (although Clinton gave him a run on that one)
    (2) a friend of the US's enemies
    (3) a UN loving statist (so you're right, he is a communist, and there is ample evidence of it).

But, for the first time in ages, I find myself agreeing with Adolf. This was a post about Palin Derangement Syndrome, from which you clearly suffer. Incidentally, there is a proven cure which I think you might want to try. It involves a small lead ball injected by force behind the left ear. Give it a go, then come back here and let us all know how it went.

  5. Hi Danyl. Not me, I'm reserving judgment until proper evidence of his birth is produced. I'm leaning more to the theory that he is Elton John's first love child, and that's why he doesn't want any original documentation cited.

How about you? Are you in the camp that believes Obama will close Gitmo within his first year?

(Aside from the fact he signed a major defense bill effectively preventing the closure of the US military prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba a couple of weeks ago).

  6. Horsefeathers, absolute horsefeathers!

Writing in opposition to politician is not bias, it is opinion, opposition.

Making jokes about a ploitician is not bias, it is opposition, it is humour,it is satire.

Are you trying to pretend that the world is not awash with hagiographic articles about Saint Sarah?

Free debate is a cornerstone of democracy, although I am well aware democracy is not favoured by the religious right.

  7. "Free debate is a cornerstone of democracy, although I am well aware democracy is not favoured by the religious right."

  8. It's a fairly easy concept to understand the difference between providing civil and truthful opposition and blatant distortion of the truth.

Washington Post rushes a story that claimed Sarah Palin slashed funding whilst Governor for a teen pregnancy programme, turns out it was a 300% increase.

Or the time hysterical librarians and their readers on the Internet disseminated a bogus list of books Gov. Sarah Palin supposedly banned in 1996. The list included books Gov. Palin supposedly tried to ban…that hadn’t even been published yet. Example: The Harry Potter books, the first of which wasn’t published until 1998.

The smear merchants who continue to circulate the list also failed to do a simple Google search, which would have showed them that the bogus Sarah Palin Banned Book List is almost an exact copy-and-paste reproduction of a generic list of “Books Banned at One Time or Another in the United States” that has been floating around the Internet for years.

STACLU notes that the official Obama campaign website is also perpetuating the fraud.

Yes, and there are a few links in the list where Obama's campaign web site were found to be "ground zero" for some of the false rumours. Or the time they put up their Democrat of the day, wearing a T-Shirt that said "Sarah Palin is a c**t. Charming. All the wit and sophistication of Sandra Bernhard.

    And it continues.

Your suggestion that I do not support Democracy is, as I am sure you are aware having read a reasonable number of my posts over the years, patently untrue.

Free Speech is great. I'm using it to point out the obvious Palin Derangement Syndrome.

  9. Thanks for the linkage... Actually I update it each time new derangement pops up. I've added the 'Latest Update' date to the top of the post, thanks for inspiring that!

  10. Yes, I realised later some events were definitely post 2008, so I'll correct my error.

Good effort, BTW. Thanks for dropping in.
