So Bill English thinks it is "a storm in a teacup"that Serious Fraud Office boss Adam Feeley celebrated criminal charges against Rod Petricevic with champagne lifted from Rod Petricevic.
No that was unseemly arrogance, at best and theft. A poor man who lifted a bottle of champagne in such circumstances would find himself before the magistrate tout de suite.
And let's not forget that Bill English, a man born with a silver spoon in his mouth, thought it was ok to charge the peasantry rent for his own house - which may have been legal but is a repulsive entitlement mentality.
All Mr English is doing is going into bat for a fellow member of the ruling class who has been caught out.
