Trotter's Hate Speech

What to call Trotter's latest campaign effort for Labour? Hate Speech? The Rantings Of A Grumpy Old Man? The Viciousness Of The Left? It's all of those things, and as electioneering goes, fails to have his home address at the end of the "opinion".

It seems the Sunday Star Times don't worry about editors any more, instead they are filled with managers tasked with raising as much hell as possible in order to sell papers and flog absolute tripe. Hate filled tripe at that.

So what did Trotter say?

Don't ever forget who the Nats are

And he goes into describing the 35% of the country, the supporters and voters that make up the backbone of the National vote as collectively the most evil and foul people ever.

Of the farmers and 'cockies': selfish; insular; bio-terrorists destroying our rabbits, waterways, and forests, who also refuse to pay the entirely reasonable tax on cows farting, and had the audacity to protest about it. These same greedy people were the ones to object to town folk having 'right to roam' over their property at will and unannounced, and control the Nations water preventing our children from being able to swim, or even get a glass of it to survive. Terrible.

But they aren't the only monsters that make up National. No, he then wades into the "creators of wealth":

"bastardisers of culture; selfish; arrogant; and possessed of an indefatigable sense of moral superiority over everyone whose income is less than $100,000 per annum."

That was the opening line of 4 paragraphs of venom.

It was a warm up. The last group he ties to "Defenders of the Faith; upholders of decent family values". He calls these people 'bigoted' and 'sadistic'. These are the evil people who mistreat gays, women, ethnic minorities and the disabled, cruelly.

He finishes up:
Yes, these are the people you will be joining when you make the big switch...Of course no one can stop you from joining them.

It's still a free country.

But please, before you vote, ask yourself: "Is this the company I want to keep?"
Well Chris, perhaps these people need to ask themselves, that if they stay with Labour and you, is that the sort of company they want to keep?

Chris, you've abused every farmer, every small business owner, every person on a high salary, every person of faith - a lot of good people, and no doubt I've missed many other good people in that list. Your opinion piece is nothing more than the left's much feared 'hate speech' and is designed to electioneer by the lowest campaigning standard known - fear mongering stereotyping that does not become any main stream media journalist - not even you.
