A man who donated sperm to a lesbian couple will have his name stripped from their child's birth certificate after a successful legal bid by the birth mother's ex-partner.
The woman took the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, and biological father, to court in May to have his name replaced with her name in the document.
Ok- so this little girl now officially has two (seperated) mommys and no daddy.
Wont genealogists of the future have fun.
This is now making a mockery of birth certificates.
ReplyDeleteBut you cannot strip the DNA from the child?
ReplyDeleteI can see this sort of thing- along with random breeding- as an opening for the powers-that-be to introduce a mandatory DNA database.
ReplyDeleteFor your genetic safety, of course! It even sounds reasonable, with so many not knowing who both parents are!

ReplyDeleteI don't think society will be destroyed, I think it will be changed.
Traditional family? Good **** riddance!!
This makes a mockery of Birth Certificates?? Don't you have your reality arse-end up?
Are we really supposed to restrain our behaviour so that it fits with a government certificate?
**** ** you people are crazy!!
The birth certificate, Cartwright my friend, as the baptismal record before it did, records the birth and parentage of a child which allows amongst other things an insurance policy that prevents people of too close a biological relationship becoming married.
ReplyDeleteAnyone other than the biological father being entered upon it is a lie = and one that serves no purpose other than to pander to a vocal minority who believe that the world should be altered to accommodate their perverse viewpoint that nature can be overruled - which at this point it can't be.
