Do we really need to spend taxpayers money on telling us what we should eat?

It gets right up my nose that there a bureaucrats who think they know better than me what I should and should not be eating.

They don't.

We are all individuals with individual dietary needs and requirements and what silly people in Wellington and Canberra think is appropriate for themselves is not appropriate for me and probably not for you either.

Do Government issue dietary guidelines serve any purpose?

  1. Do Government issue dietary guidelines serve any purpose?

Indeed they do, Andrei. I've seen them used as bookmarks, door stops, table leg eveners, door jabs, kitty litter and, of course, toilet paper.

    What could be more appropriate?

  2. Also to support employment for government bureaucrats such as myself spreading the health promotion message

  3. You'd need different recommendations for it to be classed as a "health promotion' message. It's currently more of a "food neuroses" message.
