Well, I called it during the smacking debate, assuming that making a somewhat ridiculous analogy would clearly illustrate how the government should not interfere to an insane degree in the private lives of families. Expecting perfection in human relationships, they continue to make more and more things illegal, on the basis you can legislate morality and virtue.

Well, that's what the French Government are doing:
Married couples in France could end up with criminal records for insulting each other during arguments.

Under a new law, France is to become the first country in the world to ban ' psychological violence' within marriage.The social engineering implications are huge. Not that social engineers see it that way. In the same way we see discipline being described as "a breach of kids rights" we will see any form of disagreement categorised as mental harassment.
